The Politics thread
« on: January 24, 2012, 12:20:41 AM »
This thread is all about politics! Talk about who you think will win the 2012 election? Will Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney or Ron Paul make a comeback? Or will Barack Obama reserve another four years?!
Personally, I think Newt Gingrich will probably win this. He isn't afraid to say the truth about what goes on around in America.

You can also talk about  anything politic-related besides the election!

No flame wars!

If someone sets it on fire, the thread gets locked. Keep it clean.

I have no clue about any of the current people running for office, nor do I care to know about them.

Knowing Obama, he's going to go again anyways, so.

Allow me to start a small fire dangerously close to the gasoline by stating the following:
Which U.S. presidential candidate do you think will best handle the U.S. economy? In my opinion, Obama has done enough of a job to keep us away from another depression, but that's like saying he ONLY let 4 of his fingers get chopped off. Of course, the U.S. economy is a constant issue. So far, however, he is doing a good job of making sure that we don't fall too deep into debt, as seen in the debt crisis happening with the Euro.
Anyone care to inform me of the situation there? All I know is that Greece fucked up HARD and that they want the big European countries to bail it out.

Your thread is fail for lack of Ron Paul.
Ron Paul will never be President of the United States.

This is without getting into personal/individual preferences or what not.Take the general public's perception of him - which is most likely "Crazy guy who wants to legalize marijuana and prevent U.S. from having military involvement at all". Note that there are people who would support either of those things and who vote for him. The most prominent of them is the "college hipster" group, who you guessed it - like smoking a joint and not so much going to war. Like him or not, this guy doesn't have proper backing to get elected. Ever.

Well you can't vote so you have no real need to be informed about a candidates, but that last statement isn't quite right. The House majority was turned from Democrats to Republicans; Obama's not really a "shoe in" by any means.

That may be, but there's no way I'm voting for a lying rino bastard, an amoral slimeball or a jesusfreak homophobe.  If I can't vote for Ron Paul then I'm not voting, period.  I'm all fed up with holding my nose every 4 years and choosing the least rotten candidate on the bullshit buffet.

Hm, last time i even glanced at the presidential election thing was when it was Obama, some old guy, and some woman, he seemed the best choice, young, motivated, willing to make change, all that stuff. Not some old guy trying to get money or something.

Now i dont know who'd make a good choice, considering Obama pretty much allowed to the millitairy to do... much more, too much more. And the others are pretty vague, out of nowhere and i havent heard anything in particular about them. I could have sworn i read the name Ron Paul elsewhere, probaly related to some scandal. Say, is he in any way related to any of those horrible law propositions such as SOPA?

Heh, I think it would require real effort to be more wrong.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phRi80HB ... re=related The whole video gives a good look at what he's about but he denounces SOPA at around 4:15
