Did NOT expect that. At first i thought; "oh yet another old guy wanting to become president for some weird reason", then i noticed he claims to keep stuff like SOPA, NDAA and whatnot away, and i was quite suprised to hear THAT of all things, especially considering his age, most people his age hardly know what the Internet even is, let alone heard of it.

If he is true to his words, i'd give him my vote if i happened to live in America. (Though America sounds about half as dangerous as a war zone, so yeah, criminals, guns, and all that... Wouldnt want to go there myself.)
Wonder what the other canidates are promising to the public, just hope if he passes the whole anti-sopa/cencorship isnt just a fake story to get elected.
Cant trust anyone in this day and age, given what they're trying on the Internet.

I read somewhere that Ron Paul is the only candidate that is against sopa. (Besides Obama)

I'm surprised most of you guys voted in the poll that Ron Paul would win. They haven't REALLY talked about him in the news mainly enough lately.

I'm just glad that Obama isn't joining forces with SOPA.

This is a friendly argument, not a flame war! Hopefully...

Of course they haven't, because unlike most republicans AND democrats, he isn't part of their game.  In fact news agencies have consistently tried to keep him out of the pubic eye, such as giving him very few questions that aren't 'gotcha' attempts in debates and when reporting on polling numbers have often left him completely unmentioned despite being ranked higher than those they did discuss.

Here's a compilation of many blatant examples of media censorship of his actual standings.  I know the video itself is kinda crappy but there's good info in there if you look past the poor editing.

Just bringing this over from the spamthread.

Hnng I hate it every time something bad happens in the world, people blame it on Obama.

Let me let you guys in on a little secret: The American people don't really VOTE for the president. It's the government. They decide who it will be. They chose Obama to be president, because America had (and still has) a bad economy back in 2008. They saw a black man and went like, "Guys! It's a black guy! Let's make him the president, and blame our economic situation on him!"
Discuss how wrong this is.

So many things with this I'm not even sure where to begin.

One phrase former President Harry Truman used sums up my opinion on this completely: "The buck stops here."  Ultimately, the President is responsible for all that happens in Americe.  Is that fair?  No, probably not, but that just comes with the job.  People have blamed the President for all that's bad in the country since John Adams was President, this isn't anything new.

I'm not even going to touch this one with a 10 foot pole.

Anyone care to inform me of the situation there? All I know is that Greece fucked up HARD and that they want the big European countries to bail it out.

Greece was in a lot of debt and people went on riots because the people running Greece suck at it. Then everyone else poured their money into Greece to shut them up. Then Portugal got into more debt and everyone gave them money, then Italy got into debt and they're holding talks about it in the EU. Sooooo Euro's gonna collapse sometime.

Sora, I'm pretty sure what I'm saying about the electoral college is true.

Sorta true.

1) American people actually elect delegates to the electoral college, and THEY vote for president.
2) The two major parties decide who the viable candidates are, and despite the primary system there is a lot of hidden and not-so hidden influence from the various party bosses and financial backers in how that selection works out.

That said, yeah, I'm not playing the race card on anybody.

Obama - The only sane person, just gave a badass state of the union speech, dominates the social media with millions of likes, favorites, voteups, and etc, has the votes of the minorities, especially the hispanics.
Romney - Flip Flops on issues, is mormon (because of this, the GOP will not allow him to be the main candidate)
Santorum - Google his last name
Gingrinch - Forced his 1st wife to sign a divorce sheet ON HER DEATHBED, then cheated on his 2nd wife, and now has his 3rd wife (who isn't very attractive) just for her money. Yet he stresses the importance of traditional marriage.
Ron Paul - Okay, I lied. Ron Paul is probably the most competent of these circus performers. But guess what? He is a libertarian. Sadly, a libertarian will never, I repeat, NEVER, be president of this country. I know paying taxes is a pain, but it must be done for this country to earn money and REGULATE the country like they should.

Paying taxes is good in moderation.

The only problem is all the people in the government have forgotten that and see taxing people as a never-ending cash flow to fund whatever they want.

Also, does the popularity of a man make him good objectively?

Hm, yeah Greece is having money issues it would seem and Holland is trying to cut funding to it, last time i heard, as they're just wasting it all in the opinion of the high-ups. No idea if they actually went through with that though. Other countries might think the same of it, but i wouldnt know for sure. Seems the whole EU is having trouble with greece and its money usage/wasting i believe.

Hm... So because Ron Paul is... a, hm... a whatever thingy he will reduce taxes or something leaving the government dry so they device all sorts of behind the screen tricks to minimalize his chances of winning? Typical. Too good to be true, that a man apparently wanting FREEDOM is essentially shot down. I never hear anything positive about the US government these days, but yeah, people do like to throw around bad news more then good news.

Hm... I heard the other canidates arent much of a great bunch to select from either, seems to be either Obama or Ron Paul who'll win i'm guessing. Suppose im still glad i dont live there, seems things are only going downhill, unfortunately, with a kind-of martial law (NDAA) and all those money issues, i hear.

Hm, cant seem to bring up anything positive about all this politics business and whatnot, so i suppose apologies if i actually managed to offend someone by now. The world just seems messed up now...

Ron Paul isn't talking about ending taxes, just INCOME taxes.  there's a difference.

Newt Gingrich now wants to do something about the moon in 2020 or something.

Discuss this, I don't completely understand this.
