What's your favorite color?

Black - White
Red - Cyan
Blue - Yellow
Green - Purple
Orange - Brown

Not really sure why though. It's what shows up when you invert the colours in a picture so....

Technically speaking, the traditional color opposites are:

Red - Green
Blue - Orange
Yellow - Purple

From what I remember, it's the primary color that isn't in the mixed color that makes it opposite (yellow and blue make green, and since red isn't in it, it is the opposite color.)

Then again, it's been quite a while since I even thought about any of this, so I could be horribly off.

I was just making coloured squares a few years ago in paint and then inverting the colour. I was using the most basic and solid colours it gave me. Red came up as cyan, and blue came up as yellow. Orange also came up as brown and purple as green. That's how I know.

Sora is right. If you see closely, it also works for the opposites in Mario Bros.

Color opposites depend on what medium yar on.

If it's light, then...
Red - Cyan
Green - Magenta
Blue - Yellow

If it's pigment then...
Red - Green
Blue - Orange
Yellow - Purple

If it's ink...
Cyan - Red
Magenta - Green
Yellow - Blue
