Well I don't plan for it being released on the 25th anniversary day. While it would be the most fitting, every other fan project is also probably going to be seeing a release around that time frame. So by pushing MM8BDM to the end of the week. More likely to attract attention instead of competing with the other games.

Personally, I'd love for the release of v3a to be around the time that the Best-Ever servers return. That way, it will be incredibly easy for any new guys to come and play Megaman with the rest of us without having to sift through obscure topics to find obscure wads that are hosted on a single server.

The hype is real! Very excited for the big release, totally agree it'll be better to wait till after the 17th (dunno which day after that would be best, tho!)

i dont really care what release date it comes out on. i just want to enjoy the game.
and the thing is. im surprised that capcom didnt actually see this and try publishing it into a REAL megaman game.

Well, even if they for some reason did want to do that, there'd be so many legal problems with the Zandronum team and the creators of Doom that there's no way it would ever happen.

well, not use the doom 2 engine and just use something different. i mean. look at street fighter x megaman. its filled with shoddy megaman edits and they're backing it up. and why doesnt capcom just make a brand new engine?

1.- There are very few sprite-based 3D engines.
2.- Cutman is good at modding in Zdoom/Skulltag/Zandrowhatever
3.- Zandronum has a master server =P.

well, i know that. but with capcom, heres what they can do:
make the game engine.
give credit to those who originally made the game *CougheveryoneCough*
give credit to those who made the new version.
make the game so its MM1-MM6
have MM7/8/Etc. DLC
put the game out on XBLA
then later on create a compilation disc called MegaMan Live, which it contains mm9/10/8BDM
