Thanks for the help Korby.
Playing online has been pretty fun in this game as well, but I haven't done a single team battle, just free for all battles. I've found people have been using really fast weapons over everything else, and I don't really blame them. I've got some weapons I thought were good for play and had high value, but they just haven't been working out so well. Sometimes you'll be using a weapon that might be uncomfortably slow once you try it out, and won't offer much defense as you hope for, then someone just comes by and claws you into oblivion. All part of the fun of it though, getting weapons more suited for your play habits. I've grown fond of staff usage, and throwing the confusion status everywhere.
Still trying to make my dream club weapon, but no good weapon fusions are coming up.

Oh! Oh! I play at 8.5 for most of the game. I tried 9 a few times.
But I suuuuck. D:
Regardless, I managed to beat the game.
Claws/Blades are by far my favorite weapons.
And online, despite being incredibly fun, it's a bit iffy.
One moment I'm shooting some dude, then he just goes through a wall and floats out of the map.
Maybe it's just the fact that my internet isn't top notch, oh well...

What weapons are you all currently using?
Mine might not be too great as beforehand I've been playing on 2.0-4.0, so
I'm using a Fortune Bow with 2 Ranged, 1 Melee, and 219 Value. It has Overall Defense +1, Burning +1, Walking Speed +3, and Side-dash cont. fire +3.
I also use Artillery Claws with 2 Ranged, 0 Melee, and 182 Value. It has Melee defense +2, Dash ch. shot +1, and Dash cont. fire +1.
Any suggestions for getting wepons beside the standard raise of difficulty?

For solo I use a Bullet blade with 4.5 in range and 4.5 in melee. Stats: melee def +1, Health +1, Poison +1, Speed +1 and Heart bonus +1
As for online I use the Palutena blade. 4.5 in rand and 4 in melee.
Posion +3, Walking speed +1, Forward-dash cont. fire +2 and full health boost +1
Yeah... They're not the best weapons out there, but I manage. :b

My most effective weapon is a Drill Arm I fused a while back with a five-star range, but zero melee, paired with +2 defense, +1 recovery effect, and a +3 confusion. Not only is it one of the coolest looking weapons in the game, it's really reliable, especially when countering people that rush in to melee me online (somehow things work out in my favour when I have the Drill equipped). I've also got Pandora Claws with +3 evasion and +4 speed with added burning effect, and those are crazy effective, even with three-star range and no melee. My second best weapon online however is my Lancer Staff which has four-star range and a lot of running speed and confusion effects, along with peril autododge.
When I played a later chapter on difficulty 7 however, I ended up digging up a really high value Samurai Blade somehow which came with three-star range and one-star melee, but the bonuses were absolutely amazing. It came with +5 to overall defense, +3 to health, weakening effect, +4 standing cont.fire and +4 recovery effect. It's only downside is the -3 in speed, but being able to dish out heavy damage near and far, and hold ground with the huge bonuses is just incredible. I'm definitely holding onto this weapon~.
Also you guys make me feel like I really suck at this game. I play on an average 5.0 - 6.0 difficulty whenever I play a stage for the first time, but I go back later on to try out the higher difficulties. I guess whenever I hear you talking about the higher difficulties I assume you guys are getting from start to finish with no problems whatsoever and no need to continue, even on your first run. If that's the case though, guess i'm just bad at videogames!
I just like to get through chapters without dying so I can keep whatever hearts and spoils I ended up getting and not have them altered, so I play lower difficulties on average. I already tried going through chapter 7 on intensity 9, but I kinda got killed in the air battle at the last checkpoint before entering the land battle phase.

I'm pretty good with the Pandora Claws. My pair, anyway. I LOVE their forward dash fully charged attack. It dishes out the pain.
Also... I REALLY liked the single player.
This will be spoiler'd just for safety. Not everything is spoilery, but some of it is just on the edge, and a lot of it is HUGE SPOILERS. So read only if you beat the game/don't care.

Man, the first half of the game I was like, "This is funny and all, but I am disappoint at the story." The trailers had given me the impression that there would be lots of really interesting characters like Magnus, and then it just seemed like every level was "RANDOM NEW BOSS THAT YOU DONT GET TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT".
Then I reached the second half of the game and BAM. Story, characters, AND humor all wrapped up in a GREAT package. By the time you meet Viridi, things get REALLY intriguing. When Pit got turned into a ring, I was playing every stage in a row just wanting to see the ending.
Anywho, characters. Here's my thoughts on them:
Pit: Seriously awesome. So dorky and funny, he's an awesome protagonist. I loved his silly video game references too.
Palutena: Don't have much of an opinion on her. She complements Pit very well and is pretty silly and such, but she's not one of my favorites.
Viridi: Awesome. Her voice actress was great. I loved her cynical personality and how she acted toward Pit.
Hades: YES. He was so awesome. I loved how he didn't seem like a generic villain. He wasn't just AWESOME EVIL BWAAAH, he was self-obsessed, narcissistic evil.
Pyrrhon: "JUSTICE"
And also for those who have beaten the game...

Anyone else think that it would be cool if Dark Pit becomes more of his own character in the next game? They seemed to be aiming for that, honestly. His personality was quite different from Pit's already, and they started calling him "Pittoo", as if trying to give him his own name.
I REALLY got the feeling there was more in for him when he lost the ability to fly. Think about it, Viridi can give the power of flight, too. Anyone else think that the rivalry will become even more interesting with Palutena/Pit vs Viridi/Pittoo? I think it would be awesome if that happened. I'm also hoping that in the next game Dark Pit will have a fairly different outfit from Pit, retaining similarities, but looking different enough to be sort of his own.

So I just got the game, and I like it so far. Though I'm having a little more trouble than I should changing the camera without it being...finicky in land battles, but I still really enjoy it so far.

I strongly recommend going to Options and changing the sensitivity a bit to your liking.
Mine is on 80% for both horizontal and vertical for example.
Oh, and just to clarify. 50% is the default.

Thanks, it seems to be working better now.
Anyhow, so far it seems (to me of course, different playstyles and all) that blade is my favorite weapon, with claws following shortly behind.
This game is addicting.

I was going to say that I love cannons more than any other weapon I've used so far. They aren't that slow, and the giant explosions their charge shots make are so awesome.
*Watch out, there's a reason for the spoiler.

I really wish there was some sort of Medusa weapon with the petrifying status effect.
