Why yes Smashbro, custom music for CTF Maps that may be going into MM8BDM most certainly do need 8 bit music.

One last LAST question... do other "floors" (whether they are 3D floors or alternate rooms a la Crystal Man) count in the size range?

the dimensions are playable area. Skyboxes, control sectors, etc do not count to the size restrictions.

What's a control sector?

Are you talking about the Crystal Man style floors?

Oh, my bad, I misunderstood what you were referring too. If the floor's are playable, then yes they do count.

So, if I have two floors that are 2500 units wide for instance, that counts as 5000 units? Or is it 2500 since they're "floors"?

If they're Crystal Man style, you haven't made two floors.  You've made two rooms linked by teleporters.  It's only logical it should count as 5000.

For the record, I'm not an official judge or anything.  It's just regardless of how Crystal Man appears to work in game, it isn't actually multiple floors so it shouldn't count.  Given Ivory hasn't told me I'm wrong, take that as you will.

Holy crap 6000 units is HUUUUGE!! I probably won't even need HALF of that!

Questioning some people here, how many already is mapping their entries out?

I'm just trying to think of a rough idea for the what the map I would make.

Another question: Where's the textures stuff for 9, 10, and Bass? I'm not really intending to use custom textures, as I'm going to vanilla stuff.

Don't know about 9 or 10, but &Bass can be found in the topic or NemZ's topic in Maps.
