If you mean 4 player splitscreen, it doesn't exist.  It's online, LAN connection between computers, or offline against the computer.

B.) Offline multiplayer doesn't exist. Unless you mean LAN, in which case you need to actually set up a LAN connection.

I think he means with bots and such. If so, just press the addbot button set in controls three times during the match and you're good to go. Another alternate way to do so is, during the offline match setup, pushing the add bot feature need the the bottom. Scroll over to the bot name you choose, press enter in the bottom, and poof, they'll appear in a few seconds after the match starts.

The campaign mode only can be played with 1 player.
However you can play via LAN using campaign map rotation with 4 or more players and bots (of course you won't be able to play special battles like Yellow Devil, Guts-Dozer, etc -unkown map-).

Open the launcher and go to the "Host" tab. Set up a server however you want it, set the server to LAN only, and then press "Launch". Anyone living in the same house as you will be able to load up MM8BDM and navigate through the internal browser to your server, where they can connect. You will need four computers for this.
