What good will aiming do if I never get enough distance for my attacks in first place?

I'm kind of worried about how well I'd do in a tournament. My main character is Link, and offline I'm very good with him. But online can get pretty laggy, and I seriously don't need to be any slower than Link already is. Though I don't remember the last time I played as him online, I can only assume the worst.
The last tournament I was on, I lost as Mario--my second main. Though I got close, I'm technically better as Link. I'm pretty torn over who I'd play as.




Of course, we'd have to have another tournament for that. Will there be a second one held soon?

if there is another tournament i would no doubt play as Ness

not to brag, but i am extremely good with him offline. i just love how his forward aerial flows into other attacks and is an awesome spacer. i also love his meteor smash and can time it perfectly for a fast kill

i also can angle his pk thunder however i want, but that could be a problem in an online match
