Yu-Gi-Oh!
« on: June 02, 2012, 01:23:31 AM »
Alright. Myroc made a MTG Thread, and I've been meaning to do this for a while.

So...Here! Yu-Gi-Oh Thread

F.A.Q. Goes Heah!

1. What is Yu-Gi-Oh?

Yu-Gi-Oh Is Perhaps the Most Successful trading card game ever. Starting in 1996 as a Manga, Yu-Gi-Oh (Japanese for "King of Games") Is a Highly Intricate card game.

Interesting. How To?

Each Player has a deck of 40-60 Cards, and an optional Spare deck Called an "Extra deck", Which Holds XYZ, Synchro, and Fusion Monsters.

Both Players start with 4000-8000 Life points, with the goal being To get the opponent's LP To 0. This is done with The Cards. Each Player starts with a 5 Card hand, and draws a new card each turn.

Monsters

Monster cards are either Bright Yellow or Orange. The Colors determine What They Are. Also, There are Blue ritual Monsters, and the Monsters in the Extra deck, White Synchros, Black XYZs, and Dark Purple Fusions. Normal Monsters Can be any from the extra deck, or The bright yellow Cards. They are usually high attack, and nothing else. The Effect Monsters, are mostly the same, but The Orange ones. They have special abilities to do different things, Such as damage, self Attack Increase, or Even WIN THE GAME.

Attack and Defence are The Most important things about a monster. A Battle Goes as such.

If Attack>Attack, The Opposing monster is destroyed, and they take Damage to their LP Equal to the Difference.
If Attack=Attack, Both Monsters are destroyed, no one takes damage.
If Attack<Attack, YOUR Monster is destroyed, You take the damage.
If Attack>Defence, The opposing monster is destroyed, No-One Takes Damage
If attack<Defence, You Take Damage, Neither monster is Destroyed.

Summoning monsters comes in 3 Flavors. Normal Summoning, Setting, and Special Summoning. Normal Summoning Can Be Done once per turn. Setting IS the same, But You Cannot Set and normal summon in the same turn, and vice versa. Special summoning is summoning by a Card effect, and can be done as many times as possible per turn. XYZ summoning, Synchro summoning, And fusion  summoning all Count as Special Summoning. Fusion summoning is done With Specific cards, Usually "Polymerization", and requires 2 or more Specific monsters. Synchro summoning requires A "Tuner" Monster, Which you can tell by it saying "Tuner" Instead of Effect, and a Non Tuner, With Some exceptions. XYZ Summoning Requires 2 or more of the same level, (The Amount of Stars), Overlayed on each other, instead of being sent to the Graveyard.

Spells And Traps

Spells And Traps are cards that Do Different things, like effect monsters, but more Potent. Spell Cards Can Be Activated from your hand during your turn, and ONLY Then, (Aside From Quick Play Spells) and Can also be played Face down. Trap Cards Must Be Set before activated, and Mostly played during your opponent's Turn. There are different kinds of Spells and Traps.

For both of them, There are Normal Spells/Traps, which follow the Normal Rules, and Continuous spells/traps, which Remain on the Field until Manually Destroyed.

For Spells only, There are quick play spells, Which are played face down, or from your hand during Your or your opponents Turn. Field Cards are in their own area, and boost The Attack/Defence of A Specific type of monster, or have other Effects. Equip Cards are applied to a specific monster and Usually Boost it's Attack Or Defence. And Ritual Spells are used to Special Summon Ritual Monsters. For Traps, the only Special Type is the counter Trap, which can not be countered, except by another Counter Trap.

Sets of cards are typically released monstly, With The Most Recent One Being The Battle Pack: Epic Dawn. If you have any other Questions, Feel Free to ask.

Interesting Deck. My Current deck is a Burn/Self Heal Deck. Too Lazy to put it, maybe later.

I broke several of these rules... for starters, me and everyone I knew screwed the 40-60 card rule and just piled as many cards as we could into a deck. My newest deck is my smallest, and its an all spellcaster deck. I stopped playing awhile back though...

Old deck of mine. April 16, 2011 to be exact.

Might have a few banned cards here or there. It'd be nice if there was some online YGO game. I never had the real cards, but online games were good enough for me.

I mainly like to use this site for online duels.

I really don't want to list all the cards for my decks, but I run 4 main decks. My main deck is based on The Agents archetype with a splash of Neo-Parshath, the Sky Paladin in. Secondly I run a Dark World deck. Third is a deck based around Gemini monsters. Lastly is a dragon deck revolving around bringing back dragons from the graveyard.

I use 1 banned card now because I have nothing to replace Giant Trunade with.
I run a Classic Archfiend deck (minus Terrorking, don't have one)
A Pet Dragonless Harpie deck (though I have baby pet dragon)
and a dark Warrior deck.

To lazy to list them, but I did make them on dueling network, just haven't dueled there yet.

Okay, my actual deck this time.

I don't really have enough pyro monsters for Thing In The Crater to be useful though. Still needs tweaking, I suppose.

I went and dug up my pictures of the decks on DN
(click to show/hide)
I no longer have Barrier Statue of the Abyss, the Element Doom and the Kie'ki Mariu Doom cause my cousins were dumb with the cards I gave them. Otherwise those are all the cards for the deck.

I never removed Avian from this one's side deck after trading Wild Wingman out for that Chaos King Archfiend.

Bumping because someone else made a topic not seeing this one. And because Deck.

(click to show/hide)

Bubble Beat Deck with the Elemental HERO Gustav Max OTK thrown in for good measure. Very consistently pulls out the OTK, and very quickly brings out the beaters. Side Deck is for transformation into full-blown OTK Deck, with draw power, searching, etc., but without all those cards it still usually winds up winning with the OTK because you only need two cards.
