Huh. This is intresting. The "View unread posts" button took me to the second page, despite me not reading this thread before. o_O Almost made me wonder who were made moderators.

Congrats anyway.

first reaction: "I can understand Llama, but Sora's just silly"
second reaction: "oh wait, Korby's even more silly"

I'm not going to complain too much, but I can say that I support the decision.

Fight, Moderators! For everlasting peace!

Everything you said about Sora is true so I'm going to cut that part out

Quote from: "HD_"
Quote from: "Ivory"
ignoring pride and friendships to remain as neutral as possible

I'm afraid that although this is true for Sora, not so much for LlamaHombre.

Some of you may know about this, for it was not long ago. In fact, it was in the merry merry month of May.

I was just being an average person in the Cutstuff Community Chat on Skype. (Wat IV to be specific) when some people singled me out; a certain group of prideful people: this group included (but is not limited to) LlamaHombre, Kenkoru, Roc's Creation (Tesseractal/Ice-IX), Red (Red Eyes/Lag Man) and thatguy74.

These people often called me derogatory names, such as "Huge Dicks". It was often of great annoyance that I would hang my virtual head in shame and take the abuse like a punching bag.
Have you wondered why you received those nicknames at the time? I tried not to get involved during that time, but if you have a problem and you're singling me out for that reason, I'd like to know what I've done.

I have also seen LlamaHombre, this moderator "unaffected by pride" so you say, casually insult others like it was no big deal.
Because it's not a big deal. I never ever mean a good lot of that. I've always been insulted throughout my life, and I'd never truly go down to belittling someone like that.

...At least, not after what I've done. I won't lie that I've gone off the deep end one too many times, but I've tried to become a better person. If what I am today isn't enough, then I'm sorry.

He often listens to his friends before actually doing anything, and fights to keep his high status in this community.
I listen to my friends before doing anything because they're a good source of opinions about a situation. They're the ones I'm able to talk to immediately about a situation, and whether I follow their lead or not is my call.
As for the "high status", are you telling me that nobody in this community has personal pride? I've simply never had the pleasure of being respected to this degree, and I try to take in what I can. If I've come off as egotistical, then I have tried to fix this as well.

And with that, I challenge your promotion of LlamaHombre to global moderator status. I believe it is time that those 10 people with huge egos and shameful bullying tendencies stop ruling the community and preventing others from enjoying it as it should be enjoyed. I may not be the member of highest status in this community, but I believe there are others who will stand by me in this calling out.

Do not ignore those that go against this decision. For the sake of Cutstuff. I do not care of the consequences for posting this, nor the new social status it incurs. The time is now. For revolution.

If this is my final post, then farewell my friends. I hope you all have a pleasant remainder of your life and still keep in touch with me.

Sincerely,
HD

I actually want you to continue explaining my faults to me so that I understand what I need to overcome.
So please, continue!

To be completely and violently honest, I'd have to agree with HD. I typically don't see Llama on often, nor is he the most accepting of new players or those outside his tight group of friends.

So, an apparently well-based reason has been given to doubt on Llama's moderating policies.

Thankfully, this is not a democracy =D
Thankfully, he seems to defend himself stating he's willing to change. Despite already admitting he does take his friend's words and opinions very seriously.

It's common sense that any sort of issue that may call for community moderation should be discussed with peers, not with preferential people such as friends. Then the question would be: can we trust Llama? Can the other moderators trust Llama to take decissions and use such power with extreme prejudice and conscious responsibility?

It appears that, by being chosen as a global moderator, the answer would be yes. Yet there are still people who doubt his capacities. These calls for concern (not only regarding him, but also on that other thing HD mentioned about this group of prideful people) should not fall into deaf ears.

It's not a big issue YET. I'll let you know when it is.

Plus, we have Ivory.

I think it is important to note that Llama has changed a lot, even in the small timespace of a few months. He's been a lot less active lately, and while this can be seen as a bad thing, it means he's a lot more reserved and thoughtful when he posts than he was a year ago. I am certain that he will be a just moderator and a good choice.

On the issue of pride and the inner circle of the community, I think it is the same with every community. A lot of this bullying behaviour happens outside of the forums on skype or steam, therefore impossible to moderate, and potentially less threatening. Problems should probably be resolved privately, but for the priders to chip in and help out wouldn't go amiss.

Also, brotoad is still a mod. Just super saiyan.

Because I trust Llama. Korby trusts Llama.

We didn't decide on Llama without any good reasons. I know Llama isn't perfectly, no one is. I'm not perfect, Korby isn't perfect. You take what you can get. Waiting for the ideal person to drop out of the sky isn't going to happen. Korby and I have been going over this matter for months now. Going over the community 2-3 times over. It's not like I went on a whim with Llama and Sora, Korby and I had an agreement on them, and we decided to give them a chance.

Which is the key word here, I'm giving them a chance. I'm giving Llama a chance to prove that he truly is the good kid at heart I believe him to be. I believe that Llama is capable of acting with good intentions in mind. I've seen him yell at people, was it the right thing to do? No. But was he doing it for a good reason? Yes he was.  That's what I was looking for, someone who, with guidance, could become a better person. I've placed my trust in Llama and I'm willing to give him that chance. But I see many people here aren't willing to give him that shot.

If Llama messes up, I'll tell him so and explain what would have been a better approach. If he isn't capable for the job, then he'll step down. Then Korby and I go back to reviewing the community again. Same goes with Sora. I was never expecting everyone to agree with me, but I was at least expecting most of the community to be willing to give Llama a chance to prove himself.

Second, With my promotion to being an admin, Korby is now rather alone. Being the sole active global moderator left, I thought it was about time we finally had some new recruits join the Global Mod team.

I'd like people to understand some things.

I am most certainly willing to give Llama a chance to prove himself a worthy moderator. If he proves that he has changed since May, then he can accept a hearty congratulations from me.

I believe everyone deserves a chance to try to change, so therefore Llama gets such a chance.

Please listen to this part of MusashiAA's post though. This issue should not go unignored. Please hear the vast majority's plea for help. Bullies must no longer rule the community!

(No, existing mods/admins are not bullies before you ask)

Also this topic is filling up faster than a camel at an oasis
