Most pointless thing you did in a video game?

Trying to see how many glitches I could do in a row in the GBA version of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
I think I got to 5.

Oh, and jumping in EVERY spot in Super Mario Land 2, looking for money bags.

AND trying again and again to use that Frappe Snowland glitch in Mario Kart 64.
I got a 44 second Time Trial record because of it.

Anyhow, the most pointless thing I did might have been trying to cheat into Sparkle Land (World 4) in Wario World, before beating Thrillsville (World 3).

I just kept Corkscrew Conking, untill, after about an hour, I actually did it! But I then noticed that none of the level doors were open.  

I meant because it was all a dream at the end.

Although, when you beat Ozma in FF9 you get an Ozma card.
If that wasn't bad enough, it isn't the only way to get that card...

Used an emulator to play the Game.com port of Sonic Jam.

...Completely pointless, that thing is horrible. At least I know where Sonic Chronicles gets its inspiration for the music.

Seeing how many live I could get in the first level of Donkey Kong Country (GBC), without exiting the level.

(I got 99, because the balloons respawn after you enter/exit a secret area, which doesn't happen in the SNES version.)

Or, (also DKC) using DK's hand slap move in EVERY SPOT IN THE FIRST WORLD!


And recreating the City Trial ending in Free Run mode of Kirby's Air Ride.

Fighting Metal Face in Xenoblade Chronicles without using a chain attack for who knows how many minutes.

That moment in a nutshell? 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 *30 minutes later* Oh, I have to do a chain attack. *win*

Gta 3 going to shoreside vale before clearing the first mission (it is not very practical unless early hidden packages and only way to return is learning to fly a clipped wing dodo)

In Super Mario Sunshine, I attempted to get the most Shine Sprites I could possibly get before visiting the first level of the game. I even did the awkward jump to get to Pianta Village too though I wasn't able to fully complete it since I didn't unlock Yoshi yet, which is needed to complete one of the levels.

I'm still going on an endless killing spree in Assassin's Creed II. The combat is fun and the guards are limitless.

Once I started spamming Boomerang Cutters into one of the enemy spawner things on the walls of Sigma Fortress 4 in Megaman: Maverick Hunter X. It wasn't exactly pointless though, as I was trying to fill up my Subtanks.

Played Megaman's Christmas Carol 2 on Hard Mode with Megaman and relized I had no hope when I got to the Final Boss.
But I did suprisingly beat all the bosses before it. (And I was surprised once I found out there's a extra boss on Hard Mode.)

Why is my first instinct in an FPS to always run in the same direction into a wall for a long time? I don't even expect anything to happen.
