These are better, even if they will need some adjustments.

And for the record, I disagree. I'd rather see X here than Zero.

This misses the entire point of my post. The game labels itself as a Mega Man game, but it has nothing to do with Mega Man, save for a few mega man characters and the general art direction. Hell, the creator itself says that the game is about a multitude of characters from different sources fighting each out. If that is the core hook of the game, then the game isn't just about Mega Man anymore.
I fail to see what that doesn't have to do with your point.  The vast majority of Robot Masters, from their NES appearance alone (Though I guess we could try the suggested route), do not have many attacks and therefore would be under-armed compared to Mega Man, Proto Man, and Bass.  In addition, I think that rather than trying the old idea of "let's make a game where you can play as Robot Masters" (Already done by MM8BDM, Day in the Limelight, and Powered Up), that the team would rather do something that's interesting and original--taking non-MM characters and putting them in a Mega Man context.
Should the Mega Man Vs game where you can play as all the Robot Masters exist? Absolutely.  But that's not this game.  I'm sorry.  Maybe to avoid further confusion, we should have this moved over to General Gaming.

I'm not trying to shoot down your ideas or anything, but you could also afford to act like defensively and be more open for suggestion. So far all I've seen from this team is a bunch of defensive people.
Don't want us to be defensive?  Then don't put us on the team for defense.  So far, mostly what I've seen from you guys is the generic Musashi prattle:  "Oh, this game looks terrible; you can't expect to succeed with a devteam like this; you guys will never amount to anything; etc etc."  Over the past few days, you've had more input to this game's development than anyone else, and you're still not even helping with it.  We're tossing out all the MM edits; we're putting more RMs on the development list; we're working on a demo as hard as we can to show you guys...and we're being defensive?  Sorry if I read this wrong, but it feels to me like you're being rather selfish.
I'm going to stop replying now; I've been speaking on the behalf of the entire team, but they may not think the way I do.  Mostly, though, I just want to let this topic sit for a while.  Rest assured, when we're done with our first demo, you'll be the first to know.

Don't want to be defensive, then don't reply defensively. It's as simple as that.

We've been saying what we feel is problematic with the game.  It's feedback, and like it or not, it's mostly negative based on what we know.  Yet you dont' want to accept it simply because it's negative.  You set the tone for this debate when you got upset at people pointing out the most obvious thing we'd seen from the one and only screenshot you posted - as if you didn't want to draw attention to the one thing you gave to us to draw our attention.  The only sense I've gotten from you and the one other developer I've seen from this game is that you're not interested in how we feel about the game and are instead interested in telling us to like the game or else.

I still don't see what's wrong... It's just a game with a lots of characters with megaman as the "host".

WOAH WOAH WOAH

HOLD ON A SEC

I DON'T THINK SO, TIM

It's not a screenshot, it's sprite art

Plus, there ARE actual screenshots of the game. Now that I'm skimming through the dev topic, it looks kinda ok. Let's just wait for a demo...

Although there is one thing about the fan characters:

THERE ARE
TOO MANY
OF THEM

OH, AND THEY'RE ALL MEGA MAN EDITS
save for a few exceptions.

And very few actual Rockman characters. Hell, how about putting at least one Robot Master from each NES game? You have the original game (2-3 moves) plus the arcade games (2-3 more moves), and even Super Adventure Rockman (1-2 more moves for some RMs) to find new moves if you believe the NES games alone aren't a good enough resource for attacks.

In fact, why not just make Robot Masters have a life bar and take less damage, but be limited to their NES moveset? There was a very old fangame called Mega Man Online, which was an online NES-styled platform fighting game, where each Robot Master was literally a carbon copy of it's NES boss counterpart. That means that, if a RM originally didn't walk across the room, then it couldn't even walk, so they had huge jump heights or some other mumbo jumbo.

Art-wise, one thing must be understood:

MEGA MAN STYLE
IS NOT
GRABBING MEGA MAN
AND EDITING HIM

There is more to it, these fan characters need to be a bit more different. Most of them have the iconic pumpkin head, and the stubby arms. They don't even fall in the edit category: they're just very good recolors with something strapped on them to call them "different"

Let's see here (according to the wiki):
Cody (the Hedgehog) (VirtualSonic(of ER)'s FC)
Omegaman (Of the user of the same name)
Loveforever92003 (as himself)
MissingNo.(2) (not that one Pokemon Glitch, but he's named after it.)
Dillon (by SniperAssassinX)
and Our very own... (yet delayed)
CutmanMike (as CutGoth)

6 doesn't sound like much.

Sounds like a bit much for a fighting game.

A lot of them seem kind of like self-inserts, too..

Haha, laughed at that one, but I have to agree. It was quite unexpected to see a horde of fan characters and then just two characters from the Mega Man series. I do await the release, though. Also, what engine are they using? M.U.G.E.N?

Edit: If you had even a little interest in this project. It's dead now. Go home.

And let me just say the project's dead.
Everyone only posted spritesheets and music, which doesn't help with the development whatsoever. The developer in question essentially disappeared, and nobody else took up the case.
But honestly, I'm not going to deny the fact that this was doomed to fail anymore. If anything, I only got in on it to see my sprites and characters come to life, but nope. Nothing but a dream now.
So yeah, we're done here.
