Need mm8BDM promo by Capcom now =p

Won't happen because of Zandronum/Skulltag and stuff. Not to mention MM8BDM somehow slips under every major gaming blog site's radars somehow. Hopefully a new trailer and the release of v3 will remedy this.

As for the game, looks decent but the sprite edits suck. I hate hate hate the way every dumbo graphics editor out there thinks that editing mega man's sprite is the way to make something "8-bit".

My favorite part about all this? They're using SFIV's menu theme as the boss battle.

My immediate reaction to this was DISGRUNTLED. Which I think was mostly because the hype on the livestream had me expecting a new, Capcom developed Mega Man game, and instead I saw a fanmade Mega Man game from a year ago.

After hearing how it came to be and thinking it over though, I'm finding it hard to be negative about it. A fan actively tried to work out a Mega Man project with Capcom Unity and they obliged! Capcom Unity has shown time and time again that their hands are tied when it comes to game development, localization,  and all sorts of other things, to the point where it left me wondering what actually was in their power. I never would have thought you could go up to Christian Svensson and show him your fangame and have them actually financially back it, but it happened!

I'm now coming around to being a whole lot more positive about this whole thing. While there's still some lingering nitpicks, like CutmanMike mentioned with the bosses being Mega Man edits (which is an understandable concession to make when developing a fangame), it does look like a fun game. We should enjoy and celebrate Capcom promoting both Mega Man and fan creations, rather than turn up our noses and make it seem like we can never be pleased.

The way I interpret this is the beginning of CapCom's "sorry."  I think they've already realized what a huge fuck-up Rockman Xover was, but they realize that they couldn't make anything that wouldn't be terrible in time to celebrate Mega Man's 25th like it's supposed to be, so when this guy came up to them and showed them his decent-looking fangame...they saw it as an opportunity.
Maybe it's just me.

I really hope that this is where Capcom's megamanning up to their previous ways, but right now it seems like a quick distraction to steal our support.

Like Ivory said, this is a win/win for them and until they step out of win/win or lose/win comfort zones, I'm not sure I trust Capcom yet.

It's not the moment to complain or to be frustrated by anything, i think.

http://www.rockman-corner.com/2012/12/c ... -mega.html

If you want kill the serie cause there is not next gen megaman, don't give any chance at megaman "little" games.

I will DL this game cause it looks fun, and it's free, so, i won't poop on it ^^

I'm probably gonna download this, but only because I feel like playing a new game.
I dunno. I'm just sorta  :| about this at the moment.

Hopefully this is just a nice teaser of things to come. While I'm wary myself about trusting anything Capcom says, they have been indicating that Mega Man's anniversary would start in December and have a proper run. It would be awful bitter and unproductive to turn our backs on them right at the point where they're trying to set things right.

(And when I say Capcom, I'm mainly referring to the community managers at Capcom-Unity, the people who actually hear and respond to fan feedback. Capcom itself is just a company; it would be unreasonable to treat it like a person)
