My interest in MM8BDM, for reasons I will keep to myself, has been declining lately, so the sooner I can get these last few matches done, the better so that I am not holding anyone back if I feel I should take some time off MM8BDM until either: 1) I get a new computer, or 2) MM8BDM gets an update that causes crashes less frequently (and I feel the former will come a LOT sooner). Bikdark, Wallus, and Sean, please contact me as soon as possible to begin arranging matches. I am well enough to duel. Otherwise, I will consider my matches done and take my leave. I will not be around for Season 2.

In order to encourage games to finish, I am implementing the following rule (and amended rules):

7) Each game won will be worth two points. Each game lost will be worth one point. The player with the most points in each league will be declared the winner. If there is a two-way tie in the points column, here is the Tiebreaker procedure:
a) Overall win/loss record: If two players are tied in the points column, the player with more wins would place higher.
b) Head-to-Head record. If two players are tied in the wins column, a player that won both games would place higher.
c) Head-to-Head frag differential. If b) is tied, than the player with the better frag differential in the two games would place higher.
d) Overall frag differential. If c) is tied, than the player with the better overall group frag differential would place higher.
e) Overall frags scored. If d) is tied, than the player who scored the most group frags overall would place higher.
f) Overall frags allowed. If e) is tied, then the player who allowed the least amount of frags would place higher.
g) Coin flip. If f) is tied (god forbid), then I'll flip a coin to break the tie (heads being for one player, tails for the other player)..

The overall standings have been changed to reflect this change of rules.

You people seriously disappoint me. It wouldn't surprise me if you disappointed the community, as well.

I'll have you know that I played my games early, in spite of illness (I was feverish at the time) and in spite of my law school work. I did it early mainly because I feared that I would be more busy later than I would be early on in the semester. I was proved right. Now, I'm fairly busy with a project that's due March 1st, but that still wouldn't stop me from fulfilling the obligation that I made to my competitors. I wanted to show that, as a member of this community, that I, regardless of my work situation, could fulfill any commitment made and set an example for others.

If you people figured you'd have been busy later, then you should have played your games when you had the opportunity to. You've had chances to play opponents just like everyone else, only to disregard them in favor of "having fun". So any work arguments get no sympathy with me. You made a commitment to the other competitors and I would expect nothing less than fulfilling said commitment.

An event like this is only as good as the players who are willing to commit time to said events. When they flow naturally, most people enjoy them and natural conclusions can be born from them. When people stall (and then later threaten to quit because they get "bored" or "busy"), it disrupts the event, and ultimately, discredits the community the event is based in.

Playing 18 games (2 games against 9 opponents with fraglimit 5) does not take up a large amount of time, if planned properly. So your "decision" to leave the league prior to its completion seriously disappoints me. There is no good excuse for it.

You still have three weeks to play the remaining games. If you're still going to school, then you can do what I did: take a flashdrive and play in the computer lab. I did that for previous events while at New Mexico State. I don't think that's terribly unrealistic.

If you really want to forfeit, I will forfeit you immediately. All previous results will be marked off as 5-0 defeats. However, you won't be playing in any more events I sponsor. The other players and I don't need people who won't honor their commitments. (EDIT: My statement, having been in utter haste and emotion, is now more circumspect. I won't totally prohibit you from joining future events, but you are hereby on notice; make no mistake, what you did is not acceptable.)

Galactan, I request a final answer in response to this post.

In the meantime, it seems we will have an opening in the top division of play and two openings in the 2nd division of play. If anyone wants to join up to fill those spots, they may. Three openings.

You should stop questioning people's decisions and stop interrogating them about it, and making posts about how you're so high and mighty that you do whatever it takes to get your dueling done (because dueling is such a HUUUUGE deal you know). More or less, that's rather selfish of you. It's also very selfish of you to ban people from your future events just because they forfeited one you previously made. Please stop.

You made a commitment, and then broke it. In layman's terms, you lied when you said you'd play the games needed. Selfish? You made this more about you than the other players when you chose to quit. That's pretty damn selfish, if you ask me. You call me selfish, but at least I'm honest with everyone. To a fault. I keep my promises, regardless of anything else.

I'm aware that dueling isn't the most important thing in people's lives. That's why there was nearly two months to play the games. That said, personal honesty is important to me (as it should be important to everyone). If you really felt that you couldn't play your games, you should not have joined this event. Simple as that.

I've had enough arguing. I'll accept your request. So really, I've got to find people to fulfill the commitment in your place.
