I think I should mention Energy Breaker here. It is still my favorite game of all time and I love it so much.
It is an RPG on the SNES from 1996 by Neverland (creators of Rune Factory and Lufia) and it just feels so unique. It has an isometric viewpoint, great music, an interesting ability and battle system and a good storyline. Basically it plays like a normal JRPG, but the battles are more turn-based-strategy-ish. And the graphics are just amazing ... it looks almost as good as Kirby's Dream Land 3.

Oh, I forgot to add, this one, awesome game that a MM8BDM mod should be dedicated to...

Star Wars: Battlefront 2!
It's like the best Star Wars game EVAR!
I just love it. The gameplay is just so beautiful.

"Neverland (creators of Runescape and Lufia)"

"Neverland (creators of Runescape"

"creators of Runescape"

.. What? I thought Jagex made Runescape. I read nothing of Neverland having anything to do with that game.

FUCK I meant Rune Factory not Runescape. Kill me, please.
I easily confuse names all the time, sorry.

I forgot another game. Metal Black. It is a very obscure horizontal shooter by Taito released in 1991.
What differentiates it from almost every other shooter out there is just how good the graphics look and the amazing soundtrack.
The gameplay is something very different from almost every other shooter because there are no upgrades. You can fill an energy meter by collecting tiny molecules and you can use the stored energy to shoot out a giant beam that you can unfocus. And the bosses can do the same, and when your beam and the bosses' one collide awesome things happen.
And it is very special to me because is just so unique and because my sister watched me play it once which was a lot of fun and the ending is just unforgettable. And it always displays the name of the music that plays at the start of a stage or boss battle which is a nice touch and it's a shame that so few games do the same.
I had a lot of fun with it and it will always have a special place in my heart.

Oh my god...Metal Black! Q.Q

That game was amazing. I came across that game fairly late only about four or five years ago. Loved every second of it.

Today I busted out the old Sega Saturn. It was the first fully 3D gaming console I ever got to play with (until I got the N64 sometime later) and it just blew my mind back in the day. My cousin and I would always play it and we have some very fond memories of that system.

There was Dragon Force, first of all. That was a really unique game and I still see no game like it today. It was a Strategy/RPG where you moved armies to enemy strongholds like a standard strategy game but when the battles started all your troops would be lined up with a general on each side. Your general behaved like an RPG character, with spells, special attacks and an active-time battle gauge, all the while giving orders to your troops to counter the enemy strategy. Man, it was so cool. It had an incredibly deep story, too and you could play as any of the 8 lords for 8 totally different campaigns. The music was gorgeous. You could also enlist the generals you captured and add them to your army, some only being triggered by secret events...and just, I could gush on about it forever.

Some other great games we had growing up with that system were; NiGHTS into Dreams, Cyber Speedway, Iron Storm and Sega Rally Championship ("Game Over, yeaaahhhh!"). Ah, great times :D
