Because that's allowed on the forums, even as a joke!

KEEP IT SANE - Unlike most forums I have little to no tolerance for retarded posts. What I mean by this is simply replying to a thread with pointless (i.e I lol'd) will result in a warn, ESPECIALLY if you just post a single picture. This isn't 4chan. Have a reason before you post, other than to humour others with stupid comments.

As much as I agree with most of the statements in the first post, what korby said is so true.
Besides, I think someone has made a (rather angry) thread like this already
For everyone else who thinks this is just reiterating what I said, I am completely fine with this thread being made. Hell, HD even asked about opinions on the commandments before posting. Looking through it again, I'd probably make some slight changes here and there (most of them being appending the phrase "unless you have a good reason"), but otherwise I condone this thread.

Okay, here's a question of mine...
Why do people not like necrobumping topics?
And why don't they like double posting?
Isn't it sure a lot better to necrobump a thread than making another thread?
So lets just have a million Megaman battle network threads or something.
And wouldn't it just make sence to delete all the posts on the last five pages of the 'anything goes', Megaman discussion, and etc.?
And Yeah, I understand in certain circumstances, double posting isn't a good thing.
But I double post in the CutStuff zombies to show bumps and or updates.
That, or I double posted in the dashing assassin game so I wouldn't die for a third time.
Now. That octopus post was quite ridiculous. That's what the edit post button is for.

I'm sorry if I've upset any of you in any way, shape, or form.
I just don't understand the physics of negativity towards necrobumps.

Necrobumps are only looked down upon if a topic is better left dead (topics with no point, topics that won't contribute to anything if revived, etc.).  People should generally have a mighty good reason for bumping a topic that hasn't been posted in for a long time.

Double posting is generally frowned upon due to the fact it's just as easy to hit the edit button, and it makes the topics look 100% more organized and easier to read.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't like reading 2-3 posts in a row all made by one person rather than one comprehensive post that gets everything across.

And while double posting to bump your own thread is alright if you have some meaningful progress, doing it too many times makes it lose its impact and interest for other people watching your topic.

tl;dr, just have a good reason anytime you post something and try to get everything across you want to in one, concise post.

First off, let me just say that within a short amount of time you seem to have improved your posting A LOT. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Additionally, let me say that double-posting is just something you shouldn't abuse. For instance, I once had a massive quadruple post or something going in my Skins topic. The reason? When I release a new skin, I want people to know its out there, so I make a new post so that people lurking can see the update and grab it ASAP. However, these skins weren't released all at once, they were released a good deal of time apart, so its not like I was spamposting. Using it for an occasional update is probably fine.

The main problem with double-posting is when it turns into spamposting, i.e. posting a whole bunch of random stuff in a row that is unnecessary. Its when people do something like this:

First post: hey guys where do you get the download link for that skin?
Second post (2 minutes later): can someone help me?
Third post (5 minutes later): nevermind i found it

These could much more easily be edited into the user's first post.

So yeah.
