Well, I had a bit of an idea for a stage. I figured I'd go ahead and pitch it now, even though I'm not done with my new character design (Haven't even started, in fact). (click to show/hide)Gated FortressThis stage is themed like a passage running between two great war forts. As such, most of the level should be flat, without a great deal of height variation (Save for the walls). If it aids in the construction of the level, imagine two great fortresses with a canyon connecting them. Towards the center, there should be more independent activity, and fewer minions. It may also be nice to place some team-specific AI sentinels inside each fort, perhaps in place of the typical defense turrets.Consider this a take on Control Points maps from Team Fortress 2. There are the Red and Blue team Nexuses (Nexii? I don’t even know), as usual, and three different paths to walk. Effectively, the level is divided into five main points: Red Nexus, Red Gate, Neutral Gate, Blue Gate, and Blue Nexus. Though there are multiple paths to take, each one will eventually lead to the next point in order (Though some routes may be longer and have less activity). The gates themselves are simple: only the team who possesses them can pass through them. By standing near a gate, one can attempt to capture it for one’s own team (See the existing KOTH mode as an example). The Neutral Gate counts for neither team, though it still must be captured as if the enemy had it. Note that having an enemy in the gate’s capture zone will suspend you from capturing it, and you must remove them from the area to continue capture. In addition, the Nexuses are rendered invulnerable unless the gate before it is captured by the enemy. This may look frustrating at first, but I believe it can be tweaked to be made effective, like it was in Team Fortress 2. Maybe there are certain Champions capable of passing through or around the gate without capturing it first, similar to how certain classes in TF2 can slip behind and undermine the other team’s defenses. Or there are other, more difficult routes around the gates that allow for similar such passage. I’ll let the idea (And this simplified diagram of what the initial concept looks like) stand for itself for now, though.Note that the diagram is, as it says, incredibly simplified. Though middle should be fairly straightforward by definition, other paths can and probably should be as winding as you find appropriate.
We're trying to go for more original content here,
Cold's idea of "original content" is apparently renaming, reskinning, and generally giving a new paint job to any derivative characters. The rule's still dumb (Doubly so seeing how "self-insert" characters are also banned), but I suppose if it's that easy to circumvent then meh.

Ahem, Gentlemen: (click to show/hide)Dr. Clyde von Belmont(Melee, Magic, Caster, Disabler)-----------------------------Appearance:A fancy gentlemen who wears such things as a Tophat, Monocle over the left eye, and a brown labcoat. -----------------------------Auto Attack: Capital PunishmentClyde has determined that the best way to get things done is a whip. Not a trusty shotgun or dog; No, his whip. It is to be noted that this is not a Capital Science product, rather, a family heirloom passed from who knows where.-----------------------------Passive – Capital ScienceIf you've ever looked at the ingredients label, you would know that we have ingredients listed on it. However, if you look closer on the fine print, it makes a note of how we have no idea of what is in our products. As a result, all Capital Science products are to give a random status effect or disable upon use for a very brief duration.-----------------------------Skill 1 – Jack's GrowDescription: All you hair fetishists will be happy to hear that this item has made it into the metagame as the world's strongest hair growth tool. If you even consider having hair, you should probably shave it off and replace it with this stuff. It's the best.Skill Description: If Johnny Appleseed has ever taught us anything, its that populating the world with your seed is the best thing a man could have ever done. This Capital Science wonder will be thrown on a target location only to shortly send a spike of hair upwards damaging the foe. Uses Magic/Ability damage.-----------------------------Skill 2 – Chainsaw RifleDescription: We wanted less killing and more ham sandwich action that many people seem to don't actually get. We want ham sandwich action. Bring it to us. If instead you bring us turkey action or ham on turkey action, this may or may not be acceptable to the children.Skill Description: Thanks to customer feedback and crying over split milk, we have decided to lower the range on this item for more epic close combat situations. Now your point, click, and slice experience will be smoother and more fulfilling thanks to less motion controls. Uses Magic/Ability damage. -----------------------------Skill 3 – The Nova PackDescription: Flying to space has always been a man's dream, except when its being drunk in the streets begging for money. If at some point you experience technical difficulties with it, please refer to the enclosed instruction book and ONLY put in a small amount of fuel. If you fill the tank, stand back and run. We don't know what happens, but its probably bad, so run.Skill Description: We haven't used this in combat, we really don't think its place is in combat. However, if, lets say, someone was to launch this thing into someone's face, it would explode. It would explode, and hurt, alot. We're also pretty sure it wouldn't be the only thing affected by the explosion either. Uses Magic/Ability damage.-----------------------------UPGRADES LIST:It's Yours My Friend: To be used with Jack's Grow. You reach into the bag, and, surprise! We almost forgot that we added a chainsaw to this thing. We then decided that a chainsaw should deal increased ripping damage per rank using extremely sharp blades that are suitable for children. If the first skill maxed, Capital Science commends you for your power and awards you increased range on your slicing experience.Alice's Dream: To be used with the Nova Pack. With a jetpack strapped to your back, you can move pretty fast. With this jetpack strapped to your back, you can move faster. Hello. (click to show/hide)Mordecai, the Immortal(Ranged, Hybrid, Caster, Disabler)AppearanceA fairly young man with jet-black eyes, wearing a long, black coat covered in eerie symbols.Passive – ConsumeMordecai's immortality comes at a cost: In order to cheat his own death, he must steal his life from others, and use it to extend his own lifespan. Getting the killing blow on enemies will refill a portion of his health, and a much larger amount if he slays an enemy hero.Weapon – NecrolanceFires a medium-ranged railgun-type beam of dark energy. Boring, but practical.Skill: MalignovaDeals moderate area of effect damage centered on Mordecai. Has no noticable cooldown, and can be quite easily spammed, but costs health to use.Skill: DesecrateFloods the area with lingering necromantic energies. Everyone who finds themselves inside the field is afflicted by the Vulnerable status for as long as they're inside, and up to one second after leaving.Skill: PhylacteryBy using this skill, Mordecai can sacrifice a portion of his current health to create a Phylactery, an item that can later be used to refill his health (although some health is lost in the process). Only one phylactery can be carried at once.Skill ModsSpiteful Arcanery – Progressively increases the damage of Necrolance based on how much health Mordecai is missing. Each rank will increase the limit of the damage increase. Third rank will make it pierce enemies.Profanity – Adds extra effects to Desecrate. Rank #1 will cause enemies to slowly lose life inside the affected area. Rank #2 will convert this damage and add it to Mordecai's health. Rank #3 will also enable friendly heroes to take advantage of this healing.Mark of the Heretic - Progressively increases the health gain from Consume. Third rank will cause Phylactery to cleanse negative status effects on consumption.Divine Vendetta <Ultimate Mod> - Mordecai swore to forever walk the earth, spitefully defying the Godess of Life and Death against whom he seeks vengeance.Rank #1: Unlocks Phylactery.Rank #2: Casting Malignova will increase the damage of the next Necrolance.Rank #3: Increases the effective range of Desecrate, and Mordecai will permanently emanate a Desecration field in a smaller area around him.
