Mr. Tick Tock sat grumbling on his bed. "Lousy jester idiot, with his stupid smile and ridiculous bombs... Why for once can I just have some sanity?"

The next moment, he found himself sprawled on the floor, with a rock creature on top of him in front of a huge hole in his house. Mr. Tick Tock sighed. "So, you finally decided to show up..." he muttered.

Bonkers and Poppy Sr. ran to the hole. "What happened, Toc- oh, hey, it's Rocky! Where's your friends?" Poppy Sr. asked. Bonkers then gripped his shoulder, and pointed towards the two with his hammer. They both waved as Mr. Tick Tock struggled to get to his feet behind them.

A glint of light shimmered at the summit of a forest clearing. Gaw and N-Z were exhausted from their fruitless search last night. Both dreaming of solving the case and being treated as heros. Gaw saw himself alongside Captain Stitch, with a change of heart towards his friend, with the roar of applause and cheering being directed at them. But what gives Gaw the idea that he can succeed in getting Captain Stitch to side with him is nigh but an enigma. N-Z's dream was nothing like his partner's however. His dream was really a nightmare where heard a voice, one that he claimed as his own, speaking out to him in a near-familiar tone.

"Pit yozr htped mrstrt smf mrstrt eoyj rbrtu qsddomh drvpmf. Upit yozr od sd eraa. S nrjpafrt upi djsaa nrvpzr. S nrjpafrt. S nrjp..."

The voice started to fade and suddenly, a crashing sound was emitted that caused him to abruptly awaken. N-Z's eyes open widely only to quickly shut tight from the sudden light transition. He got up to see Gaw sleeping and the bag of extra provisions, slightly emptied, beside him. N-Z dwelled on the nightmare he endured and stared up at the sky, worried if it would somehow impact his relation with Gaw. He seemed too lost in thought when, suddenly, he heard a sound echo through the woods. It was the exact same sound he heard in the tail end of his nightmare. N-Z scurried over to Gaw and nudge him repeatedly to wake him.

"Ngg...uhh...huh?"

N-Z loomed over his squirming body until their eyes met.

"Hey, buddy. Did you sleep well last night? You look kind of nervous."

N-Z attempted to lure Gaw's attention towards where he heard the sound from, since he can't really "point" the way. Gaw drew a puzzled look at what N-Z was trying to accomplish. It wasn't until Gaw's ear suddenly twitched that N-Z realized what he was trying to tell him.

You heard that noise too? I heard it in my dream about a minute ago. Didn't know it actually happened. You think it came from that direction?"

N-Z gave a slight nod to Gaw and paced towards what believed was the source of the sound. Gaw, now fully awake, snatched up the bag and followed N-Z towards another forest clearing.

The forest ended. There were grasslands stretching before them, a lot livlier than the ones near the path they always took to get to the store. Gaw looked in astonishment, the beauty of the landscapes, the blend of almost every color imaginable, simply breathtaking. N-Z looked down to see a house nearby with a slightly smashed fence and two figures entering it. He snapped Gaw out of his gaze and towards the house.

"I think we found the source, buddy. It looks like some the residents of this area are congregating there. Maybe the store wasn't the only place robbed of it's food. C'mon, let's go investigate!"

The two walked towards the house, trying not to draw unwanted attention to themselves, and peered into the window where the others inside were arguing.
