EDIT: awwwww MM5WAVX sucks though

I expected better of you Knux :ugeek:
Bashing someone else's maps won't help make a better one. But here's an awesome idea: switch your efforts from your mouth to your brain.

since you want to make it public

objectively speaking

it's larger than every other map in the game, there's plenty of holes in it, and Wave Bike movement is a pain in the rear

even ignoring my own opinion it's not going to be the biggest hit in voting
I'm just saying you're not going to win with that map

homies help homies

EDIT: oh right I almost forgot to say that I'm taking Top Man

Nothing keeps me from submitting it, so submitted. And at no moment did I want to make PMs public. You're just pulling a big show out of your ass.

On a related note, if anyone wants assistance with ACS or Decorate on their maps, I'm happy to help, just let me know.

I am kind of upset still about how the CTF compo was handled in terms of the anonymity. When we are told that the creators of the maps will remain anonymous but in the end it isn't held through without consent of the mappers in seeing if they would still wish to remain anonymous is poor care.
As much as people may wish it not to happen, knowing who made a map can sway their vote. If you like the person you are in fact more likely to vote for them as it does work the other way as well, if you don't like the person or don't know them, you are less likely to vote for them. This is without regard of the map itself.
You may love the map and absolutely hate the mapper, where not everyone may, it is likely to have the later effect someone's vote.

As long as people don't actually see which maps belong to which people, which, eesh I hope that can trusted or enforced upon, it should be fine.

The general public cannot be trusted with votes. This has been proven several times already.

How about make the poll in a place where only trusted users (Aka: those who did something relevant in favor of the community) can go?

I would much rather have the compo hosts have quality control. They are the ones with the most experience, after all.

On another note, Reidakk has submitted his Top Man map.

EDIT: No, really. Submitting a map I spent time and effort on, just for everyone to go and vote for their favorite mapper, is a slap in the face. I think the judges should be the hosts of the competition only, but not just because they're experienced, like in this case. It's also because we wouldn't get factions voting for the sake of voting, and thus, we don't have people feeling bad they entered the competition.

Although I believe that this search for better maps would go more smoothly if we could all share our ideas. As in, not a competition.

Yup. I don't see how public voting could not turn into a dick-waving popularity contest.

Just to make it clear for everyone, for those of you with Top Man, you can use that beta background that used to be in the stage. It would greatly help the map look more interesting.

SO WHERE IS IT

not to be a dick or anything, but since said background is just tile parts, we could all end up with completely different skyboxes, which noticeably splits apart the playing field and could end up having adverse effects on the desirability of our maps

if there's a standardized skybox (like the extra Wave Man tileset pack) that'd be fine

but as it is I'm sort of opposed to a random variable in an event where we're supposed to all be on even ground
