As he left the plaza at the end of the Day Phase, Zerokk felt something rub against him. He checked his pockets, and fished out a closed envelope. Looking around, he couldn't see anyone near him who could have given it to him. Curious, he retreated to his temporary quarters on the island, and opened the letter. It was some sort of message, hastily scrawled on a piece of paper.

Night Phase.

Zerokk walked to the plaza. Someone... or something... had set up what looked like a stage.

There was a podium at a stand, perched underneath a giant screen, and the whole place was lit up with various spotlights. Cardboard cutouts of Mets, slimes, ghosts, Sniper Joes, and various other low-level enemies were placed erratically in bleacher stands. There was a hologram of a non-gender-specific mannequin standing to the left of the podium, patiently waiting.

"Glad you could make it!" The hologram waved at Zerokk. "Welcome to Synchro Hearts!"
Zerokk looked at the hologram. "What's going on here, exactly?"
"Simple," the hologram said. "You've been selected as a contestant for our nightly game show."
"Is this even legal?" Zerokk asked as he climbed up the stage.
The hologram gestured at the stage. "If it wasn't, don't you think the Guardian would have lasered us before we could build this?"
"Good point." Zerokk stood behind the podium. "Alright, let's get started then."

The hologram retrieved a note card from an area where a pocket would go. Oddly enough, the card was also holographic. He held the card in front of what could be assumed to be his face.

"There's only one question you have to answer in order to win the fabulous prize!"
"Neat," Zerokk said. "So it's more like an interview than a game show?"
"Well... sort of," the hologram answered. "Actually, before we begin, I'll just do this..."

The hologram pressed a button on the side of the monitor. A bright flash of light... and then...

"There we go," the hologram said. "Now you're completely in-tune with your Actor Card."
Zerokk scratched his head. "... Huh. I don't feel any different."
"Don't worry, it'll kick in soon enough," the hologram reassured. "Now then... what... turns you on, per se?"
"Erm... what?" Zerokk tilted his head. "You mean, like what gets me excited, or..."
"Well, sort of," the hologram said. "More like... you know... sexually?"
"Oh," Zerokk said flatly. "I have to answer that?"
"Only if you want the fabulous prize," the hologram said.
Zerokk rubbed his chin in thought. "Well, if you insist... it's actually pretty simple. I'm into beast girls. You know, ghosts, imps, stuff like that. Wolf girls too, and a couple of other things you might consider 'furry', but it's all anthropomorphic so it's no biggie. It's great seeing them stretch their arms, smooth their hair back, move their legs to the side and--"
"OOOOKAY THEN that's all the time we have!" The hologram started to fizzle around the edges.

"Thanks for playing, kiddo! Unfortunately, my technology is limited, so you'll lose most of your Actor Card's feelings and memories after you leave the stage. You were very cooperative, though, so feel free to take the TM17 [Protect] on your way out."

The hologram disappeared, and Zerokk picked up the pale grey disc. It looked brand new. Zerokk looked at himself in its reflection.
"Neat. How do I use it?" Zerokk asked.
The hologram's voice spoke out. "You don't! It's a mafia game, not Pokemon Colosseum!"
Zerokk blinked. "What."
"If you survive, you can take it home though," the hologram continued. "Should make a great trophy, unless you have something back home you can use it on."
"Ugh." Zerokk sighed. "At least it's better than Snarby Coins..."

With his new TM in hand, Zerokk returned to his quarters, waiting for sunrise...

DarkAu Alice's Diary
~ Night, Turn 5 ~

It's been about a week or so since the beginning of the hunt. I can't be too specific with the time since the tenacity of the spontaneous inhabitants as well as the constant finger-pointing has set my internal clock askew. It seemed like forever. Every day two people fall and neither are confirmed to be of CrackHack. As far as logic goes, I put my own thoughts into the fray hoping someone will pick up on it. The majority of the time, its overshadowed by another's forme of logic... Always ones that I see inferior and pointless.

My biggest fear is that my closest "friend" could be one of them.

... What am I saying? It's as if I've taken over DarkAura's persona by staying here on the island. No, he's not my "friend", he never will be. My mind is being corrupted by his magic... I can feel DarkAura's presence, recall her memories, synch up with her thoughts. It's absolutely miserable. I must try to grasp what little remains of my original self.

Grasp it, and never let go.

Since my only ally and guardian fell, I'm left vulnerable... temporarily, albeit. Despite such a fact, they'll certainly seek me out tonight. Why let them waste a perfectly good bullet on someone whose chance of turning the tide of the battle has been crippled? My only salvation is to abandon the island, despite the consequences. My body feels cold, shivering at the thought of what I am driving myself to do, but I refuse to turn back. I will hold back my urge to regret. The last thing I hope to see is the island disintegrate behind the nightly mist as I descend into the ocean.

By the time this entry is discovered, I hope that I've at least escaped all's possible sight.

The unrelenting waves shall wash away this outer skin...



To restore my soul once again.

Poke. Poke poke.

The boy opened his eyes.

"Hrm... wha?" The boy looked up. "What do you want... ?"
"I just want to show you something," the girl said.
The boy sighed. "You realize it's the Night Phase, right?"
She nodded. "Yeah... and I took a huge risk coming out and seeing you like this..."
"Wait, hold on..." The boy rubbed his eyes. "... Kapus!? I thought you were dead!"
"SHHHH! Not so LOUD!" Kapus put a finger in front of her lips. "I told you this was a risk!"
"How did you know where I was?" The boy scratched his head. "More importantly, how did you respawn so quickly?"
"Just... trust me," Kapus said. "I don't have much time."
The boy got up. "Fine..."

The two walked through several winding alleyways until they reached a beat-up building with a grated door in front. The door clanked open, slowly rising notch by notch. The two walked inside. It was dreadfully dark, almost too dark to see your own hands. Kapus walked over to a wall and flipped a light switch.

They were standing inside an old-fashioned boss hallway. There was a picture of cake on the opposite door.

"Wha..." The boy was in complete surprise. "How... how did you..."
She turned him around and opened his arms. "Happy Birthday." The two hugged in a tight embrace.
The boy was swept with happiness, and squeezed her in return. "You remembered. Thanks."
"Actually..." Kapus let go of the boy and pointed towards the door. "There's more in the boss room."
"I can't believe you went through all this trouble for me," he said. "Thanks again, I love it!"

The boy ran towards the door, taking a brief pause in front of it. He looked back at Kapus and waved, smiling. Kapus waved back as the boy jumped at the door. In true retro fashion, the boy froze in midair as the door clanked open one notch at a time, revealing the next room.

The room was a pit. Caked entirely by spikes. The whole floor. Oh yeah, and the roof too.

The boy slowly turned his head back, a shocked look on his face. Kapus became blurry around the edges. Wait... that wasn't Kapus, was it? It was a trick!

"You should have known better," holographic Kapus said as she faded away. "The cake is always a lie."

Against his will, the boy floated forward into the spiked room, watching in horror as the boss gate closed behind him. Notch by notch, the boy felt helpless as his impending doom ticked closer and closer...

The door closed. The boy fell into the pit of spikes.





The boy bounced off the pit of spikes.

What? He fell towards them... and bounced again, only lower. Bounce, bounce bounce, bouncebouncebounce. The boy landed on the spikes. Strangely enough, they didn't even feel sharp. It was like the room was filled with rubber shapes that were pretending to be spikes, but they were really bad at it so they just pretended to be a bouncy house instead.

"I can't believe you fell for that," someone said.
"What?" The boy looked around. Nobody was in the room.
"I SAID... I can't believe you--"
"Yeah, I heard the first time," the boy said. "But where are you? I don't see anyone?"
"The name of your savior has been censored to protect the innocent."
"Gee, thanks," the boy said, patting the squishy spikes. "Well, I guess I owe you one... otherwise my butt would have popped like a balloon on these things."
"Don't mention it," the voice said. "Oh, there should be a ladder on the other side. Use that to climb out and get back to your quarters. They think you're dead, so you should be fine."
"Alright," the boy said as he walked over to the ladder. "I found it."
"Well then, my work here is done," the voice said. "Just in case, though, I'll be keeping an eye out."
"That should make me feel loads better." The boy opened the other boss gate, which led outside the building.

"One more thing," the voice said as the boy stepped outside into the night.
The boy looked around. Still nobody, but the voice was clearer than ever. "Yeah?"
"Your birthday's not for another week."
The boy blushed out of embarrassment. "Whatever."

He didn't like the idea of someone talking directly to his mind. Trying to clear the night's events from his mind, the boy walked to his quarters and quickly went back to sleep.

There is also a 50% chance F1Sigma will take damage for you during the Night Phase. She will be out of service for a while, so it takes 3 Turns to fully repair her, during which she cannot protect you or vote for you.

Active Special: Double The Trouble
You can vote twice and for two separate people. Your first vote as Alice is posted in the thread, while your machinated lookalike F1Sigma votes via Cutmail. This ability can only be used while F1Sigma is still in working order.

Passive Special?: Always Hunted, Never A Reprieve
Scanning abilities will always display you as an enemy. This means that being scanned by a Townie or Cutopian will display you as CrackHack, while being scanned by CrackHack will display you as Townie. This only affects how you are displayed; abilities that affect Townies or CrackHack members will not take effect, since you are still Neutral alignment. If this ability is nullified while you are scanned, you will properly display as Neutral.
