I've noticed for the past two days now.

I finished the spooky ghost skin.

I dunno why it's still listed as [IN PROGRESS] as I even sent it to you and everything. (And since my outbox's empty, you MUST have received it)

Yeah so I'm done it.

So I'm actually putting in the new walking frames.

As you can easily see, there's no Back/R frames yet again. This is because I want to ask: is the Back/R idle frame fine as it is?

Also, post 1700. A neat milestone and all, but the best milestones are among the lines of 5 and 10.

You need to work on your heights. On the standing frame, he's about a pixel lower in his back/r than all the others, and there are several other inconsistencies between rotations as well. For example, the tail segments in the back frames don't line up with the ones in the others, they seem to be based more on the parts in the front.

I can't really think of a way to make the back/r better, so it should be fine for now.

...Okay, I've got to hand it to you, I can't think of a way to make that look better.
I'm sorry about that, should've kept my mouth shut if I couldn't even fix it myself.
So just keep it as I had it instead? I know it doesn't really look as consistent, but I'm gonna bring up this again.
THE WALK FRAMES AREN'T EITHER. Take a quick examination, and hell, I even recall viewing over a few skins that are in the core and they don't feel the most consistent I've seen.
Anyways, is it just okay if I move on to the main skin and then send it to Korby to be accepted in the expansion pack? I mean, if it's alright with you guys. :3
Thanks, and I should be done with this skin really easily so it should be out by either near the end of this day, or fairly decently early tomorrow.

Yeah I know what you mean, even in the Megaman skin there's quite a few inconsistencies.  His walk frames shift positions, and in the firing frames he fires with his left hand until he faces front or back, then it's his right.

A) This isn't the base Megaman skin.
B) May I make a suggestion that can maybe help solve this argument? Put his hands down to his side, don't have them come upward at all. So the arm movement looks more like Simon's. Thus it will even be a near replica of Simon's walk.

I don't see why you keep using base Mega Man to justify problems

base Mega Man sucks balls anyway

But it's using the sprites, and I don't wanna go out of my way to making it less consistent with the original Mega Man skin.

I don't think that would solve much, plus the walk cycle already is kinda like the Simon walk cycle, I would only really NEED to change the Front/R, Side, and Back/R sprites... but yea I may do that if necessary.

Because I wanna keep it as close to the original skin as it can? I don't wanna leave too far from the original skin's properties because it's supposed to only be a costume.
Plus I was justifying the problems by mentioning ALL core skins.

Ah, I understand.

By the way, did you keep the custom SFX, or not?

Thats where skin edit's falter. You DON'T want them too much like the original, you wanna add some flavor to the skin to make it unique compared to the one it is edited from. This is why I hoped to have at least new walks for the DOS skins that are simply edits (Oil, Torch, Wave, Shark and Blade), to make them have some better difference to the skins they were edited from.

Bottom line I'm getting at, edited skins shouldn't have every frame looking the same from the original.

So I got an urge to actually work on my project.

Does this lighting look alright? I know it's not much of a contrast, but I don't want the map to be dark.

EDIT: That black bar next to the curtains is just there because I took the screenshot in Doom Builder and it was too far away to be shown. It's a normal brick texture in the actual map.

If you're wondering if it's alright, load it up with the halloween pk3 and see if it's pure black. If it's not, it's fine.

Yes, geno, I plan on keeping the sounds.

So I tested it with that pack and...

eeeccchhhhh

This isn't even with the lighting, this is at entirely 255.

Is there a way to get rid of that added darkness? Even at 255 it's too dark and the textures look awful because of it.

My map also gets it's brightness screwed up when loaded with the halloween.pk3 file. Everything is set at 255 lighting for some reason, and that's a humongous no.
