Right, that problem you have could be related to something you downloaded for the game recently. Check your files. As for Heretic, I only ever played the demo, and that was about 12 years ago. I don't even remember well how it looked.

Yeah, I'm going to see if that's the problem.

-boots up Zandronum-

-plays Hexen-

Yep, that was the problem, time to make a custom PK3 with all my skins in it to load for Doom 2 and MM8BDM only

Welp, time to try out those mods you guys told me about

OK, I tried out Samsara just now (don't know why I didn't before now since i already have heard of it and stopped working on it a few weeks aseveral times) and the whole old-school FPS characters come together thing sounds like an idea I had once where I'd make classes from different Doom engine based games be able to go to each other's games. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I think I'll never pull off something like that as good as these guys (or one person perhaps?) did.

Hey guys?
What if we could mix that Doom: The Mercenaries thing with MM8BDM and GZDoom, so we can make our own MML3?

Its just an Idea.

That actually sounds interesting, maybe someone should do that then, but I won't since I'm currently working on original mods for MM8BDM, attempting to master ACS, and have homework piling up. So I'm busy as it is. Where do I keep finding time to even play Doom 2, Hexen, and MM8BDM? Anyways, I wonder who will try to use that idea, if any at all.

Finished my Titan run of Hexen.

It was rather intense when I got to Necropolis, having to rely heavily on the Hammer of Retribution to get rid of Reavers safely. Though I resorted to bottleneck tactics now and then because I always seemed to be low on green mana. I wasn't going to attempt a hardest difficulty run originally, and started this one as a joke but got used to it. Overall, I found that it's MUCH better to play like this because the enemies are more active and try to maul players every sight of them they get, which keeps the pace at a fast speed.

For the fight with Korax, I found that it was supposed to be more difficult with fire raining from the ceiling and the surrounding floor turning into lava, but I saved up my special items. 5 Icons of the Defender and about 14 Kraters of Might, not to mention maxed out Flechettes and Quartz Flasks. Only dust was left.  :ugeek:

Well, the Mage class will be my last run, it seems. Definitely going with the hardest difficulty this time as well, since I got used to it. I had the thought that since I could destroy things at close range, long range play should be easier to do. But with the vast amount of enclosed areas in this game, I have to wonder how it'll turn out...

Ah well. I also found out something interesting while looking at the tombs in the final hub. Disregard, it's full of shit.

A bit late but there's going to be a (client-side) gore variable in Samsara.

I finally finished Brutal Doom v19 on both Ultimate Doom and Doom II (UV). This was played on the Brutalized Levels, and I gotta say, it was quite fun and action packed. Here's some screenies from my adventures:

Episode 4 of Ultimate Doom was quite unforgiving at first, but it got relatively tame after the first few levels. To give an idea of how bad the first level was, 5 Barons, Imps jumping out of corners, and a bunch of Shotgun Guys spawning right after the player steps outside the small starting room. It's a good thing the useless Pistol was replaced with a Rifle and that headshots are now possible, because it probably would've been flat out impossible otherwise.

I forgot to mention that everything hits harder.

I feel like someone should host a server using that Resident Evil 4 mod I mentioned when I first started this thread......But who? I couldn't since my computer isn't directly linked to my router (making port forward kinda outta reach without going though some shit I don't care enough to do) and I got banned from Best Ever.

Also, I decided to start playing some Strife from the beginning of the game, then I noticed something strange.

I'd hate to double post, but I recently had an idea related to the Doom engine and Zandronum source port.

After being disappointed by the lack of creativity in character models used for some Doom mods, I started to wonder if someone could make another Doom engine based game, except made specifically for Zandronum in order to show off all of its features while bringing a quality game.

I have no actual name for it right now, but I'm goin' to refer to it as Battle Royale since I want it to be fast-paced, brutal, and someone mentioned the name earlier on a server.

This will be my first project that isn't a simple modification and I plan to get a team together.

Music composer, level designer, graphics/models artist, and I will be the one who codes everything since I would be 100% useless with any other position. I may also need someone with a creative mind to come up with an interesting enough world for people to get really into the game.

Feel free to give me ideas to use when I start development, I'm going to write ideas down in notepad so I have something to start with.

So far, I already know I want it to use 3D models, have fast-paced batles, and a decently made selection of levels.

Anyways, that's all I wanted to say, goodbye for now.

If you're going to use models i'd suggest getting sprites from them, because they are disabled sometimes in OpenGL and always in Software.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea, especially for those who lag when they use models.

I got bored in a server and decided to defy gravity

Yeah, I really wish more people would come to Crasger's server, his maps are really great. I think the most people who've ever been in the server at a time wad like 4 people. That's 1 more than I've seen in any Hexen server.
