Mild Sonic Lost World spoilers, lel
So yeah, the other day, I was playing one of those secret stages in Sonic Lost World where Sonic goes all A Whole New World-ing through the sky and shit, and then this happened.

I just flew up off of the top of the stage as soon as it started and was in a very cloudy limbo for around fifty centuries until I quit the stage.
Also, the map said I was staying still for ages, until I apparently started moving backwards. I don't even know anymore.

Needless to say, that inspired me to make this thread. Any of you guys have stories of hilarious/interesting/scary/devastating glitches to tell?

Well, there's this: emulator glitch?

Did anyone run into this strange glitch in Mega Man X2? I ran into it last night when I fought Overdrive Ostrich, although it didn't happen again in the refight in the X-Hunter base:


I swear it didn't happen any other time when I played the game.

And then when the first Mega Man X game finally came out on the Wii U Virtual Console about a month ago, I tried breaking the game in several ways... these were two of them:

Capcom really ought to beta test their games more thoroughly. Also, I took these two screenshots on the Wii U Virtual Console and then uploaded them to Miiverse, so I appologize for the lesser than steller screenshots, but here goes:

I was playing the Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed demo a few days ago. It's 50% glitches! Three of those were:

- Going downhill in car mode, the car decides to stop and turn around by itself on a rather crucial path. It kept happening everytime, which made the Hard challenge in Adder's Lair nut-busting action.
- Okay, this one's gold. I was in the final lap of a race, and fired a Twister (tornado weapon) forward. I hit myself with it and cross the finish line. The vehicle keeps driving in reverse at full speed, no matter if it was a car, boat or plane, taking corners like a pro, too. And when the results screen, where the vehicle and driver are also displayed came up, both were facing the exact opposite way too.
- Random clipping through walls, which blanks the screen with the title while your vehicle is being placed back in the track. Extremely annoying.

Yeah, none of that encourages me to go get the game, but I've done some funny shit with the glitches on occasion.

The infinite fake monolith glitch I see so heavily abused by necron's in Dawn of war. And for solid reason too.


And then there are the graphic error's that occur in the army painter.

HOW DOES A GAME FUCK UP THIS BADLY?!

I was playing Mario Kart 7 today to get the last remaining gold trophy (Mirror, Lightning Cup). I was on the final lap of Dino Dino Jungle and everything was smooth, until I get hit by a Red Shell on the last stretch before the finish line. Cranked up the effort to eleven and reached the goal at the same time as the 1st place bot. As soon as I touched the goal, my place number changed to 1st, but a somewhat distorted 2nd place tune played.

When the score tally came up, I got 10 points as if I got first. Had to watch the replay and yes, me and the bot touched the goal at the EXACT same time. Quite hilarious, and it's too bad there's not an app to take screenshots.

Also got the Golden Wheels. Wee~

I have a cartridge of Final Fanasy 3 for the SNES that will randomly apply the effects of the Sketch Glitch (link for those who don't know what it is) in a battle inside the Phoenix Cave (oddly not when fighting the dragon though) or on the Veldt without Relm having to sketch. Since a lot of the effects of the Sketch glitch make the game unplayable until you reset the console, young me was terrified of the Phoenix Cave and had to resort to loading up one party with Mog and the moogle charm (no random encounters) and the other with the charm bangle (reduced random encounters) and then running Mog's group to a save and just saving and switching liberally.

However, there was one time where it glitched on the Veldt and I was able to escape. I ended up playing that file for around half a year because I had so much fun with all the glitched equipment it gave me. I remember having several stacks of the best weapons, armor and accessories in the game, but my favorite thing was infinite dirks. The game listed several stacks of dirks it gave me as 00, so no matter how many you sold or threw, they never went away. Shadow was one of my favorite characters on that file since he never ran out of throwables.

Not much of a bug, but more of an exploit...playing as Bubbleman and using simple logic, one could easily deduce what that exploit is.
Such a shame this thread is meant for bugs in games not named Megaman 8-bit Deathmatch, though.

This reminds me of how in MK64, if someone in 1st place and someone in 2nd place finish at the same time, it may play 1st place music in 2nd, or 2nd place music in 1st.

This can also be used to get the 5th and below retry screen to show up when one would finish 4th, or..... skip the retry screen when finishing in 5th.

Although I am interested about that "distorted 2nd place tune". How was it distorted? Was in really weird, or almost normal?

Actually, speaking of MK64, in Double Deck, one can screw up the game's billboarding (making the 2d sprites always face the screen).
STEP 1: Go to the top, right in front of the hole that brings you back to the spawn point
STEP 2: Start a spin turn, but don't turn (so that you are just going slow)
STEP 3: Right before jumping off the edge, do a hop and hold the Control Stick either left, or right (DO NOT HOLD R TO CONTINUE DRIFTING).
STEP 4: Continue holding all of these buttons (except R) when you land, and your kart will start "flopping around" wildly.

This is also visible on other player's screens.

This also may be possible in other places (although Block Fort and Wario Stadium are the most obvious ones, possibly Koopa Troopa Beach too)

So many glitches...
I'll go with a glitch I found in Batman city.
I had to counterattack a ninja, but the ninja did nothing.
I just lashed attacks out, and she does attack...
With a unblockable move.
Also, I found a bad coding joke glitch in the fight with joker where you can hit him infinite times without him taking damage.

Welp, time for me to re-post all my DKC not-modified-with-game-genie(-except-for-the-debug-numbers)-glitch-shots

There's this somewhat long and complicated glitch in DKC that requires a DK Barrel and the ability to exit the stage.
This glitch makes the game think both Kongs are the "conscious" one, meaning that the player directly controls both Diddy and DK at the same time.

However, one of them will have their "unconscious" palette, and not collide with any sprites (although if the player was on a solid sprite when activating the final stage of the glitch, they WILL collide with sprites)

Nevertheless, this one glitch allows tons of (mostly palette related) mini-glitches to occur.



Unrelated to the previous glitch, with Diddy, one can get a Klump stuck on the very edge of a ledge by jumping on him at the perfect time.


Now, here's an image of a DKC2 glitch.
I forgot the specifics, but it has to do with doing a Team Up Throw when above Squitter.


Finally, here's a new glitch I found out.
In DKC, for whatever reason, in Ice Age Alley, the DK Logo animation on the DK Barrel behind the starting area gets de-synched with the barrel itself if the Mini Necky is still there, and the screen is scrolling.
This occurs because the barrel and the logo are two separate sprites. (And probably because the game is so busy with the scrolling, Mini Necky AND two layers of snow effects, that it "forgets" to "update" the logo (and sometimes, the barrel as well)

Additionally, there's a similar bug in DKC2, where the game may seemingly randomly spawn two DK logos with a single barrel, with the second one being out of sync with the first one, but I haven't gotten a screenshot of it yet.

Glitch I found out today: Been playing The Wonderful 101 lately, trying to get mos of the wonderful ones and whatever items I missed, when in Operation 003-A, around the gas tunnel in that mission, there is a wonderful one in there, but for some reason won't appear during any playthrough of the level, Unless you retry from the menu (thankfully the previous mission in that operation ends around the area before the tunnel) Not sure if this got patched or why it happens, but thought to share it hear since it does fit the topic here.
