Nexus11's 24/7 MM8BDM Server (DOWN)
« on: August 13, 2010, 04:39:33 AM »
Thought I'd post this here. I currently have a 24/7 server running for anyone who wants to play some DM at any time. Feel free to use it as much you guys like. :)

IP: 192.168.2.2:10666

Just copy the IP and enter it into the dialog box in the prompt box for MM8BDM.exe.

Note: There may be times where I'll have my computer off. Please don't panic if this happens. I'll try to keep it up as much possible but there will be times when I have to shut off my PC.

EDIT: The server is down at the moment (obviously). I'll have it up again once the full game comes out and once I can get Skulltag 98c to work.

192.168.2.2:10666 is your external IP. You need to give us your external one (get it from www.whatismyip.com). Also make sure port 10666 is open to that external IP on your router

24.110.147.145, and my router is open for port 10666 along with 10667.

I guess I should mention that I'm hosting the server from the game's command prompt and not from Skulltag itself. You should be able to find it there (since I've gotten a few players who found it that way) along with the game's internal browser.

Your server is still running the older version of skulltag included with the game.  While this is fine for some, most members on this website have the latest version and can't access your server.

I would adore this server should you manage to update to the current ST version, but you don't have to do it right away. I would recommend that the spawn distance relative to other players be increased, because during a duel on Brandon's -- the minute I frag a dueler, and when I'm usually low on health, I get sniped by the same guy because I'm in his vicinity. So yeah.

I've been fiddling with it on and off. Still no luck. ;_;

But I'm starting to like hosting a server via the launcher since I recently discovered that Fraps won't record matches that are played through Doomseeker.

I've got it set to spawn furthest so I'll check in to it. Good luck with running the server, post if you need any help.

Tiny Update: Added Bots to the room for whenever you walk in and no one is around.

Also, the server is back up again. Sorry for the two days of downtime.

If you mean the Beta, it's here
http://wadhost.fathax.com/files/MM8BDM-SGC8.zip

If you mean the full game, it's not out yet. Just be patient.

-Oh wait, I missed that part about the Beta.
In that case it depends on the server. Most people who keep constant attention to MM8BDM development should know that it now uses the fully released candidate.  Some people who downloaded the game and never bothered to come back would probably be running it on the alpha version.

This link will get you the latest version of skulltag.
