Megaman the board game is a game with card and others things, the kickstarter started since some hours ago and its funded yet !!!!

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/182 ... board-game

You can participate but only if you are from USA/CANADA/MEXICO ! (i asked to the guy, if you are from europe, you can't, but they will try to ask to capcom if it's possible..)

Good luck megaman for your first official kickstarter ! (even if it's not a videogame ^^ )

Update:

Wow, those losers Crapcom really doesn't care about us... they act as if the USA is the only other place on Earth other than Japan. Way to go. :(
I don't contribute to kickstarter projects, but hearing about that makes me cringe so much.

From what I've heard, the game play is very "Munchkin-esque".

From what I've read so far it seems so; a challenge is revealed and the player needs to overcome it with cards in his/her hand while his friends screw him/her over with cards in their hands. From reading the comments Jasco apparently will have a gameplay video up near the end of the week so we can see exactly how it will go then.

Personally, I think I might go for the 160 level sometime after Christmas. At this point it comes with the Deluxe version (Includes enough stuff for two extra players and the Time and Oil man level sets for the game), the Proto Man pawn, a Kickstarter exclusive art print, two tins of Mega man themed cards for the card game that Jasco makes also, the first two add-on card packs (Elec and Fire Man), and any stretch goals revealed as "Bonus" for free (currently has three extra Mega Man pawns in different poses, and the next one on the horizion appears to be a Roll pawn). One neat thing that was mentioned is that Proto and the bonus goal pawns will have some different abilities from the one that the standard pawns will have.

Looks fantastic as far as production values go, but I'm kinda meh about the whole thing.  System seems rather tedious with just too many rolls, ability checks, actions, card draws and whatever else going on every turn.  Too complicated for younger kids and too much luck (rather than strategy) to make it interesting enough for anyone else to want to play with any regularity.

The whole thing just seems backwards to me from a game design perspective.  Would probably be a much more interesting game if players were competing to build RM stages while keeping megaman (not a player) in check for as long as possible.  Say, you get a few turns to build up before MM starts attacking, and he starts weak but gets stronger every time, either a flat bonus or more specific powers if he eliminates a level... sort of a snowball effect of inevitable doom.  More players = protoman, roll, bass and such get added as additional threats.

That sounds like a cool idea NemZ; the only thing that's a bit weird is that Mega Man would be the enemy. Obviously not a deal breaker, but I'm sure most people expect Mega Man to be playable, or at least the hero fighting for the win condition (of course, then there's Rockboard...). Still, Dr. Wily and the Robot Masters -are- pretty popular.

While I love the idea of a Mega Man board game and am excited for it, I'm also not immediately hooked on the gameplay. I watched the "How to Play" video for a couple of minutes and got totally confused. I feel like they could have something simpler and more accessible, or something that plays out better visually like what NemZ came up with. While I personally wouldn't mind sitting down and learning how to properly play, I'm a little worried about getting others into the game.

Hopefully my worries are unjustified, and when the thing comes out it'll be a blast to play. Hoping for the best!

Or a 'duel' sort of cardgame similar to Highlander from years ago (no, I don't mean EDH).  Basically you have a persona, an RM in this case, and you build a deck around them with a mix of common cards anyone can use, some that are unique to them, and maybe some that are useable by anyone with a similar 'type'.  Could be nifty.

I'm just not feeling this board game idea though.

I think that the best looking figures are Cut Man, Guts Man, Bomb Man, Yellow Devil, and all the minor enemy characters.

The rest look a little off. Probably has to do with the heads. And Roll looks good, but her face seems a bit weird.
But Elec Man, Rush, and Fire Man look the worst. Their heads are all weird!

But hey, they're still pretty neat looking. And it's probably the only chance we'll get of any Oil Man figures, so that's something.

You can get the figures separately, right? (You know, just in case I want some of them, but do not want the game, although I'll probably get it anyway.)
