Cutstuff first Dwarf Fortress Succession game.
« on: March 18, 2014, 12:35:56 AM »
You heard me right, I am hosting the first dwarf fortress succession game. The name of the fortress is Tosidsazir AKA ArmoredBridges.

The rules are:
You must take screenshots.
You must name your Dwarf After yourself (If your dwarf gets fat, then use him in the military, f*ck I don't care. And if you can't find a dwarf your skin color or does not look like you, or if you have an ingame grudge against cutmanmike (even though you auctually don't) than just stick with personality features.).
You must know the controls and how to start the game (don't look into spoiler things, so no Hidden Fun Stuff unless you already know it.)
You must give up your file after an ingame winter has passed.
You must kill elves.
And you must know the definition of Fun (it is alot different in Dwarf Fortress terms).

Contributors to the fort:
Sword Kirby (me   )

(Also Cutmanmike? If you do this and survive for a year, you will find out that DF's got a big learning curve, no, learning cliff, no, a MASSIVE, SHEER EXPANSE OF STONE RISING UP INTO THE HEAVENS, COVERED IN !!*Adamantine Barbed Wire*!! AND LAVA DROPS, ALL WHILE ARMOK STANDS ATOP AND LAUGHS AT YOUR PITIFUL ATTEMPT TO SURVIIIIIIIVE. )

Have Fun, And happy Funning!

Neat. I've had plans to make a DF succession game for a while, but have mostly refrained from doing so, fearing a lack of interest, as this community doesn't really seem intelligent enough for particularly interested in Dwarf Fortress. It is a bit of an acquired taste, after all.

I'd alter the rules somewhat to give players a bit more leeway, though. Being forced to do certain in-game things is a rather poor idea. In a good succession game, things like elf genocide will happen naturally (and be all the more hilarious for it). Forcing it defeats the point.

In fact, while I do really, really like the idea of a cutstuff succession fort, this post is rather poor in execution. Try to describe the game itself a bit (the knowledge of the average cutstuff member about DF can be more or less summed up as "It's a game about dwarves, and elephants are strangely involved"), or, if you want more players to sign up, try to educate them in how to get started and what to watch out for in an early fort, etc.

Actually, you know what? Don't bother with all that. I'm going to write something up myself.

I'd hate to be "that guy", but I'm looking forward to what Myroc will come up with over the current. I'm up for the whole idea of Dwarf Fortress, but the current rules have many limits.

No need to waste time giving up a file. I know next to nothing about Dwarf Fortress so uh
