Mainly the music, level design, and lack of difficulty.

I love the game personally, but that's just me.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!

I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!

I LIKE MEGA MAN II TOO!

Sure, it ain't as hard, or "nice sounding" as the other Mega Man games, but that doesn't make it terrible.
And considering how the fellows that made it knew next to nothing about Mega Man, MMII GB is honestly a very IMPRESSIVE game!

Yeah. It's the only Gameboy (not GBA) Mega Man game I own, though that's because it was the cheapest.

It's hardly a bad game, but it does have some serious flaws that turn me off of it.

I believe the music would be better if the instrumentation weren't garbage.

MMII was the only game not made by the same developer as the other 4. It shows.

While it certainly isn't unplayable (it actually does control quite well), the developers didn't seem to know what they were doing at all. Deformed robot master sprites, screechy music, lack of gimmicks on the stages (DWR had new ones so there), an absolutely horrid "Killer Weapon"...

As far as Mega Man games go, on a game mechanics stand point, the game is pretty solid (except for Sakugarne). On everything else... not so much.

GBT is also right about the music, the compositions are pretty good and I enjoy them as well.

I will still stand ground that Dr. Wily's Revenge is so much worse. If only because of the shit drops, how sluggish the whole game feels, and dropping onto rooms mostly covered in spikes. Cause that's good level design!

Megaman Game Boy 4 is maybe my favorite finaly, its so well made for a GB game...like perfect, but MMGB5 is original because new stuff, news boss, musics (dat final fight too).
But the level design of mmgb4 is pretty cool (:
