Make sure you're in Survival mode when you practice. That mode uses the Player 1 start by the Ice Wall that is the start point of the server.

Reminder that the competition ends
June 2nd, at 11:59 PM EST (UTC-05:00).
Unfortunately, I will be absent from tomorrow morning until Wednesday afternoon. All times recorded after 11:59 PM EST on June 2nd will
not
count toward the competition, but the server will be up until I return.
I will announce the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners on Wednesday.

It's amazing how competition heavy the community has been since the year started.
Why do I have a feeling it won't be like this for the rest of the year, you know, when I'M ACTUALLY ALLOWED TO PLAY!! *sigh*

Before I mention the results, I want to thank everyone who participated in this competition. There were a lot of great people that I saw time and time again grinding in the server, trying their hardest to get that new personal best or that new record. It is these people, winners or not, that make this competition so fun! I really enjoyed watching people compete with one another, experiment with new routes, and just have a good time in the server with everyone else. This competition is about pushing yourself to your limit, no matter where that is.
That being said, three individuals fought hard and wound up on top. It was great watching the competition intensify as the top times got lower and lower, quite quickly!
In third place, with a time of
0:11:14
, is
Kapus!
In second place, with a time of
0:09:25
, is
Michael!
And in first place, with a time of
0:09:06
, is
Celebi!
These times were all very hard-earned, and each winner deserves congratulations!
And forgive me for making one special note. And that note is about Michael. During this competition, I saw a lot of people giving their all and trying their very best. I also heard some people simply groan at the announcement of another target blaster competition, proclaiming it to be a pointless competition and thus not an enjoyable one. Michael embodied the exact opposite of this sentiment. Michael put in enormous effort to improve his time, and the result was a very intense race with Celebi that pushed both of them. And the best part is, he had fun all the while!
Thanks again to everyone for participating! Congratulations to Kapus and Michael, and hats off to Celebi for finishing in first with an amazing time! I can see all the time you spent in the server pushing for the best run, and you have certainly earned your victory!

Well done! Is Michael on the forums? I need his username to award the medal. Also I would like to hear how the route goes to get the best time, I think I have a good idea but I can't imagine getting just over 9 mega minutes.
As I said earlier this was a great layout, feel free to make the next one King Dumb unless you would like to give someone else a shot at it.

My time is pretty unimpressive compared to the other two. I thought about (and actually tried a little bit) getting my time below 11:00 to look a bit nicer, but I was way too burnt out by the end of the competition (also nobody really threatened my score anyway).
Great job to the host and the participants, though, and thank you for the congrats. I had lots of fun.

Did anyone record demos of these runs? I missed all of it.

Kinda posting to see how the medals look. For Mike, Knux and others, hit me up if your curious what the routes were. I'm also unsure if 1st place chooses the next target comp map, or if another one is happening.
I vote it be a ctf map.
Edit: Woo three sniper medals, looks neat.

If we DO get another one of these, it'd better rely on bouncing weapons.

But bouncing in this engine is extremely random (especially when bouncing on other actors), would probably lead to some frustration.

I don't know, Mike. Mega Ball bouncing feels fine to me, and it's quite fun to use. Although, it could also involve ricocheting weapons such as Gemini Laser for interesting trick shots.

I think a theme with bouncing weapons could make for an interesting competition (I haven't played this current one, probably should at least take a look at it), but I think a map with weapons like Ice Wall, Mega Ball, Gemini Laser, Hyper Bomb, Wild Coil, and Rolling Cutter could allow for some creative target placement. Maybe a map pack could eventually come out of this where players can be tested on the knowledge of their weapons in order to get targets.

Did I say bouncing weapons? I meant ricocheting weapons.
