Alright, concern.

I've noticed some maps [notably Jack's map with Blaze's piece, along with Knux and Jack's] have text in the corner indicating the name of the musical piece used for the map. Will this be required for everyone? I'm personally against it because it looks tacky in my opinion.
Even so, it would be prudent to make a readme with each of the maps' songs in them, along with the composer of the work and its origin, should it have one.

Secondary concern is what songs to use for the boss themes, because that's going to inflate the file size of the pack quite a large amount. A bunch of Shovel Knight stuff was done nicely so it makes sense there, but it still concerns me.

I'm in agreement with Lego. I think if every map had its own unique boss music, the file size for the final package is going to be absolutely absurd.

To quote Lego.
Quote
[8:24:59 PM] Lego: personally
[8:25:04 PM] Lego: 18 maps = 3 boss themes
[8:25:11 PM | Edited 8:25:14 PM] Lego: 1/6 maps
[8:25:27 PM] Lego: That's how I would handle it
[8:25:55 PM] Ivory: Same. I would of done something along those lines too

On top of file-size concern, it would make the jam maps feel even more unified as opposed to the more loose feeling of every map featuring its own music. We could even share some unique victory fanfares and really make the mapping jam feel solid and unified as a whole.

Either Smash or all the jammers vote on it?

While I prefer unique boss themes because I just think it adds more flavor, how would imperfect loops drop the size anything? The file doesn't just get larger if it is perfect. The song is probably just as long as it would be perfect or not.

That said, I'm really freaking tired so if I'm forgetting something obvious I apologize.

The suggestion Ivory and I posed was to 3 boss themes instead of 18, cutting down on file size. Loops have literally nothing to do with the suggestion.
I sincerely wish Galactan didn't edit out what he said, because Freeman's seems to be answering Galactan's post.

I've gotta say, I'm really impressed with everyone's work. Time after time I was blown away by you guys' collaborations, your ideas and your combined efforts. I honestly can't wait until it's time to compile everything together and release the pack for a celebratory server party; it's gonna be a whole lot of fun!

I also have a slight announcement. Due to personal events I had completely forgotten about, and have subsequently forgotten to mention until now, I will be busy for a good half of August 1st. As a result (and a slight request from a couple mappers), please have your final map builds ready to roll before the end of August 2nd. Everything will be tallied up at the end of the day, and I'll be able to put the maps together with appropriate boss music and what-not.

As always, thank you to everyone who entered The Brothers Mapping Jam, and thank you to everyone who helped our mappers along the way!

Well, this has been quiet and it's well past the due date, now. What's going to be happening?

Smash is compiling maps together and changing scripts and all that jazz.
...Slowly, but he's doing it.

Alright, I guess I have to be honest with everybody.

I've purposely been stalling the pack because of two things. First, I want to get a proper readme and thank you typed up, to really put a big fresh stamp on the pack and send it off as the great creation it turned out to be; and second, I was working on a surprise present to include with the pack. Unfortunately, I overestimated my ability to have it done in a timely manner, and underestimated the effort it would take to get it done. I don't feel comfortable labeling the event as "complete" without having an amazing send-off, so here's what we'll do to tide everyone over in the meantime...

The Mapping Jam Mini-Pack!
Contains ten fresh, tasty, Hot-N-Ready maps to rub against your assorted body parts.

The mini-pack technically contains one map from each entrant, so everyone has equal-ish representation. I'll be releasing the full pack (all 15 maps + bonus map + thank you package) relatively soon. Please don't freak out; now that there's something half-released, I somehow feel more pressured to push the full map pack out in a timely manner.

oh yeah and since technically everyone who entered got a release I guess Mike can give you Fun Medals now

KNOWN ISSUES
- Textures missing on JAM01 (I'm so bad at this)
- Block Monsters missing on JAM01, JAM09
- JAM16's scripts must've not even compiled since the boss music refuses to work

A lot of these maps are really good, and I see a lot of texture mixtures I never thought have worked together and they seemed to have been pulled off great! Wish i could have partaken in this mapping jam, but I can't really map on a deadline too easy.

Don't worry, you aren't the only one, which is why there are only 15 maps instead of the predicted 18.
I didn't think I could work to a deadline like that either, but I got both my maps done relatively soon and with good results.
Bear in mind that I'm also fairly inexperienced as a mapper, but have looked at lots of maps that are considered "good" and basically copied what they did.
And then did it again.
Five times.
