How must be a reboot (or new part) of a serie?

I wanted know, for myself, life is made with symbols/legends, images of some things who make the world how he is (like heroes or villains).
I have the feeling like the swag civilisation where we are (i say swag for retarded style of arrogant, i dont know how say exactly), try to change a lot of series (Teenage mutant film by Michael Bay or Ghost Buster 3 with 3 women.....)
It seems, the producers are trying to produce films using the fashion style of thinking (of people of "today") and dont use what make the basic story/style so popular before, ok, it's old, its outdated, but there is always a fanbase, if they use HD film with what we can do now....They could do more complex movies, more beautiful, with more soul!

Exemple, im not sure, but it seems, the next Turtles of teenage mutant film (by michael bay) will do like that "Teenages Mutant will be some E.T" , well i dont know about this project, im a little scared, i was very fan of the ninja turtles (lol) when i was young.
And about Ghost Buster 3, it will be made by the guy who made the gunslinger style film...so he will use only women for the heroes, but the big, it seems to be a reboot AGAIN (like the next predator film), people want change everything to make it like a lot of people are in their mind.

Why dont they make new series without to kill the old ones... (like rockman EXE who didnt touch the story of the classic). Or just make the old one but with a boost for the story, not a reboot with a new swag soul style xD

Sorry for my english again....but i have the feeling like', the creativity dont go well..... :/

I usually see reboots as separate timelines. But yep, they make things confusing most of the time. That's why I prefer sequels or precuels.
