[Suggestion] Final Boss
« on: October 22, 2014, 03:53:10 PM »
Here is my idea for the final boss.
After beating chapter 10, complete a virtual training with Duo Fist V. Treble Boost. The door will not open, and the Evil Robot will trash the ceiling (again). After a short conversation, this strangely revived villain will try and defeat you... and start on the the universe!
This time, the Evil Robot uses powerful new moves:
BOOST SPREAD: The Evil Robot flies around, shooting skulls at you.
THUNDER MAZE: Some of the tiles will glow, and will create a pillar of lightning.
ARROW CRUSH: It rains Arrow Buster shots. Luckily the rain is scarce.
DRILL DASH: This is when you can land a hit. The Evil Robot drill into the ground and comes out of a random wall. Hit him with a full-charged Energy Blow!
After landing 20 hits, the Evil Robot spontaneously combusts - it is over, and the victory, the ultimate victory, is YOURS! :D

I don't think they'd want to rehash an old boss for something new. Although it would be cool to have an actual final boss, available after you've beaten the MM10 story.

Though what you've got sounds more like a secret boss than anything. How would anyone know to use those two weapons in order to find him to begin with?

The first Evil Robot fight will still be there. Plus, When you do the training with the right weapons, the music that plays is always the MM1 Wily Boss Theme. Also, Dr.Light will give you the hint to the combination, saying "To finish it, think of the purger and the curser with the wolf." Purger because Duo 'purges' Evil Energy, and Curser because Bass sometimes slips out with swear words, plus Treble/Gospel is a wolf..

I never said the original Evil Robot fight wouldn't be there.

In any case, I doubt this idea will get used.

That being said, modding the boss yourself is not out of the question.
I can only think of one other user who's modified the boss battles to be harder, and I don't recall him adding more moves.
It'd be really cool if you did something like this!

Not a great thing to say to a moderator...he was merely stating that it is totally possible to learn how to code and then made a mod of that yourself.

MM8BDM is open source, after all.

Thankfully, there's a lot of resources you can use to learn how to code in DECORATE! It's actually a pretty simple language to pick up, even without previous code experience.

If I weren't at school, I'd give you a bunch of links. If someone else could do that for me, I'd be very grateful.
The most useful one I've found tends to be The Zdoom Wiki, the place where just about everything DECORATE related is documented.

OK, Lego. Can you give me an example code? Like saying Hello World in the chat, automatically?

DECORATE is more for class/weapon behavior, while ACS does more of what you were asking for. Either one takes a lot of studying and practicing, though.
