I was just curious here...  Do the mid-boss fights from Chapter 2 onward count toward anything?  I lost the one in Chapter 2 the first time I did it, but I won the second time I did it and there was no sign whatsoever I'd gained anything at all. (It's entirely possible I gained a new weapon from the fight and died before I thought to use it, but Eddie can give you those weapons, too.)

if you beat those mid chapter bosses then you get their weapon that you can use for the rest of the chapter!

you have to beat a certain stage in under a certain time
to fight enker it's flashmans stage
to fight punk it's drillmans stage
and to fight ballade it is knightmans stage!

Drill Man and Flash man's stages took me forever because there's no easy to use rapid fire weapon like the Metal Blades or Needle Cannon

I'll try to beat Knight Man's stage real fast when I get to him.

Um...  There's Quick Boomerangs in Flashman's stage.  o_o  Those things completely rip the bots to shreds.  Both times I succeeded, I was at least +7 frags ahead.
