Can MM8BDM be played on home consoles?
« on: October 15, 2010, 02:31:24 AM »
Im not into modding systems or stuff like that, but is there a way that this great game be played onto a PS3 or Xbox 360 without using modding or linux? If not, that is perfectly fine, just curious if it can or will be done.

Also i suppose this thread can serve as a debate if this is a good idea or not? or If this was possible, which system do you gentlemen think would be better suited for MM8BDM?

Won't work.  While there's Doom the consoles. MM8BDM requires Skulltag. Which isn't ported onto consoles, nor do I believe anyone has any intentions on doing so.

Personally I think it would be good for Wii.

PS3 and XBOX360 can't get all the fun. l:(

Thank you for your answer. If this was possible, what would you have it on?

  wii+mm8bdm= gold!
Very good suggestion david. imagine if in the future hypotheticlly if this was ported to the wii system. that would be neat to play on. Also if it were to ever be on wii, and the wiimote was configured to be the shoot related controller and the numchuck be the movement related controller, you would have a seriously boosted up mm8bdm experience.

Won't work, as I said before. MM8BDM uses specific Skulltag features you're not going to get on sourceports other then Skulltag.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade.

As for something that isn't a computer. Probably the DS. I'm not too big into consoles these days. No games that interest me. The DS is the only real thing I play games on that aren't on the computer.

DoomDS last time I played it was a bit jerky. At the end of the day the ports to console are going to be ports of prboom or some other port that isn't based on skulltag. No skulltag port, no console MM8BDM.

well partly because of what ivory said, and also cause playing an FPS without a keyboard and mouse is pointless

except for perfect dark on n64

Why do you want to be able to play it on consoles anyway?

Yeah, it'd be pretty cool to have it on the DS but not so much a home console. I have MM8BDM on my laptop and desktop so I guess I needn't worry.

I could see it possibly working on a Wii, but thats only because of the whole wad business and it was possible to do it for SRB2. Maybe someone will find a way to get it to work with skulltag on a wii sometime, you never know.
